Verizon Corporate Social Responsibility Manager in New York, New York

What you’ll be doing...

The CSR program manager will be responsible for the strategy and go-to-market execution of the Verizon Innovation Learning labs both in school environments and local community neighborhood centers across the United States. The Verizon Innovative Learning labs combine cutting-edge design and construction, emerging technology, and curriculum in a state of the art space. The program manager will work with Verizon’s in house agency, 140, and external partners (peer companies, national and local non-profits) to support the design, implementation, and management of the labs.

The program manager will report to the Director, Corporate Social Responsibility, and will have a minimum of 6 years of experience, be analytical, an innovative problem solver, self-starter and strong collaborator who excels in a fast-paced environment. He/she must understand how Verizon’s technology can be used to solve societal challenges and may serve as an external presence and spokesperson at events advancing Verizon's philanthropic mission. The individual selected for this position must have experience leading a team, and have exceptional stakeholder and program management skills. The program manager should be able to travel up to 50% of the time.

  • Set program strategy: The manager is responsible for setting the vision and strategy for the program. Working in a cross-functional team that includes marketing, PR, public policy, research, and employee engagement, the manager will create and obtain buy-in for the business plan and roadmap for the program.

  • Ideation: The manager is responsible for generating new innovative ideas and processes that support the program; this includes researching and piloting emerging technologies and innovative instructional strategies that enhance teaching and learning.

  • Go to Market: The manager is responsible to design and implement programs that leverage Verizon’s technology and other resources with minimal guidance, within time and budget constraints, and guided with specific data and research. The manager will work directly with implementation partners, districts, and schools to successful launch programs at scale.

  • Management & Evaluation: Hold partner meetings, review impact reports and results, and conduct ongoing evaluation of programs, including frequent site visits; present program overview, findings, results on a frequent basis to multiple stakeholders; effectively manage multi-million dollar budget.

  • Participate in local community meetings and events to share mission, strategy and results of programs.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.

  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.

  • Four or more years of experience working in a program management/project management capacity.

  • Experience with design and construction of maker spaces or technology labs.

  • Experience working with or supporting under-resourced and economically disadvantaged populations

  • Willingness to travel.

Even better if you have:

  • Masters degree.

  • Experience with creation of technology-infused curriculum and implementation for K-12 and/or adults.

  • Experience with VR, AR, and AI technologies and use cases in education.
