Computer Forensics Manager

Work you ll do

Today s highly complex investigation and litigation environments, along with technological evolutions in areas such as big data, cloud and the pervasiveness of social media, continue to present challenges to forensics practitioners. You will have an opportunity to work on a variety of different projects, across many different industries and with colleagues from around the globe:

  • Perform data analysis and present findings in support of fraud, embezzlement, theft of intellectual property and other forensic and cybercrime investigations

  • Supervise multiple engagements involving evidence collection and preservation, forensic investigations and data recovery

  • Define resource requirements, project workflow and budgets

  • Provide support for electronic collections and forensic analysis including the development of procedural work plans, cost estimates and client billing/invoicing

  • Supervise, train and serve as a technical resource to associates and senior associates

  • Perform quality control processes and establish additional quality control procedures, in an effort to maintain quality deliverables on engagements

  • Develop and maintain client relationships and ensure client satisfaction

  • Network to identify and sell potential new services or expand existing engagements

  • Participate in RFP responses, engagement letters and Statements of Work

  • Participate in industry conferences and tradeshows and author articles

  • Participate in initiatives to improve the operational and technical capabilities of the practice

  • Possess a strong background in evidentiary procedures including evidence management and Chain of Custody documentation

  • Work with global forensics teams to drive efficiencies and provide feedback

  • Remotely manage teams based across the country and around the world

  • Provide training and guidance for new hires and ensure all team members follow consistent processes

  • Proactively identify process deficiencies, recommend corrective action plans, and drive implementation of solutions to enhance processes and controls

  • Assist in the creation of processes/procedures, technical documentation, as well as completion of project tasks.

Qualifications

Required:

  • 5 years of hands-on technical and/or computer forensic investigations experience

  • Experience conducting advanced level digital forensics examinations on Windows operating systems using industry standard forensic tools (preferably familiar with EnCase, FTK and X-Ways forensic suites)

  • Experience conducting advanced level digital forensic collections and examinations on mobile device operating systems using industry standard forensic tools (preferably familiar with Cellebrite UFED, Cellebrite Physical Analyzer and MSAB XRY)

  • An understanding of data collection & preservation principles Prior experience leading teams in a professional servicesBalance multiple client projects and other responsibilities

  • Must be absolutely flexible with the 80-100% travel requirements of client service projects

  • Lead and participate in client presentations and conference calls

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Access, Word, and PowerPoint

  • An understanding of file system types and hard disk drive structures

  • An understanding of mobile phone data and mobile device collection toolsets , challenges, and limitations.

  • Professional demeanor and strong communication skills, both written and oral

  • The ability to describe complex technical concepts and ideas to in non-technical terms

  • Knowledge of the full EDRM lifecycle

  • Bachelor s Degree in Computer Science or other technology related fields preferred

Preferred:

  • Programming ability in C#, SQL, Perl, Python, Visual Basic, Microsoft .NET framework, EnScript, Shell Scripting or similar

  • Strong technical experience in troubleshooting personal computers and servers

  • A strong understanding of Windows based systems including installing, troubleshooting, and networking.

  • Linux and UNIX experience

  • Proficiency in the use of Nuix, X-Ways, Blacklight, Forensic Explorer, Magnet and/or open source (Linux) forensic tools

  • An understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP) and experience in working with networked systems

  • Industry standard digital forensics certifications (CCE, EnCE, GCFE, GCFA, CFCE, etc)

  • Working knowledge of SQL and other database platforms.

  • Network logging experience and analysis

  • Experience performing forensic analysis for the identification of data theft, cybercrime or other malicious activities

  • The availability and willingness to work abroad
