CBRE Engineering Operations Director in New York, New York
Act as global lead for the regional engineering teams to enable the implementation of a globally aligned engineering strategy for the client. Leverage the expertise from the global team to deliver best in class engineering services to the client providing risk mitigation, maximum uptime, continuous improvement, increased energy efficiency and cost reduction. Global experience, critical environment/data center and working with local unions is strongly preferred for this role.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Direct responsibility for Americas region via a team of regional engineers through a regional / functional matrix management structure to ensure delivery of contractual commitments including up time, reporting, service delivery, KPI/SLA compliance
Develop the global account engineering strategy in line with the contract and reflective of client needs
Act as subject matter expert to the client at all levels including CRES leadership and key stakeholders
Ensure consistency of global engineering service delivery through standardization of engineering processes, training and awareness
Work with the CBRE platform to ensure health, safety and environmental program compliance is delivered in a consistent manner across all regions
Contribute to account commercial performance through identification of service efficiencies while protecting KPI/SLA performance
Lead technical investigations, compile and present reports and recommendations when required
Engage with peer group across CBRE to develop a strong network to identify improvements for the account and contribute to the success of the wider organization
Manages the planning, organization, and controls for a major functional area or department. May be responsible for a mix of direct and matrix reports. Approves subordinate's recommendations for staff recruitment, selection, promotion, advancement, corrective action and termination. Effectively recommends same for direct reports to next level management for review and approval. Monitors appropriate staffing levels and reports on utilization and deployment of human resources. Leads and supports staff in areas of staffing, selection, training, development, coaching, mentoring, measuring, appraising and rewarding performance and retention. Leads by example and models behaviors that are consistent with the company's values.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from four-year college or university and a minimum of eight years of related experience and/or training preferred. Master's degree (MA/MS) preferred. Previous supervisory experience required.
CERTIFICATES and/or LICENSES
Professional designation such as CPM, RPA, or CCIM preferred. Active real estate license may be required. Professional Engineer (PE) license may be desired.
Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret the most complex business documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive issues. Ability to write reports, manuals, speeches and articles using distinctive style. Ability to make effective and persuasive presentations on complex topics to employees, clients, top management and/or public groups. Ability to motivate and negotiate effectively with key employees, top management, and client groups to take desired action.
Requires in-depth knowledge of financial terms and principles. Reviews complex financial/business analysis and reports prepared by subordinates. Ability to analyze the most complex business/financial data and develop innovative solutions. Develops and implements financial policies and procedures. Approves and oversees department budget.
Ability to solve advanced problems and deal with a variety of options in complex situations. Requires expert level analytical and quantitative skills with proven experience in developing strategic solutions for a growing matrix-based multi-industry sales environment. Draws upon the analysis of others and makes recommendations that have a direct impact on the company.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES
Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, and intranet/internet. Ability to use work order system. Working knowledge and understanding of architectural, electrical and mechanical systems. Understanding of leases, contracts and related documents.
