IBM Events Manager in NEW YORK, New York

Job Description

  • Drive planning and execution of small and medium sized IBM global conferences

  • Assist with planning and execution of larger scale conferences

  • Lead diverse teams in building and executing a complex event strategy tailored to providing an exceptional client experience

  • Build and manage business plans with approved attendance and expo targets to drive a break even spend

  • Maintain rigorous management system for internal and external teams to achieve key event elements including attendee targets, lead generation, sales engagement, drive to, on-site execution

  • Assist in directing communication plans for internal and external audiences.

  • Lead engagement discussions and strategic positioning with executive leadership across key segments

  • Manage relationships with the venue and ensure all on-site activities run smoothly

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Possesses a strong marketing and leadership background with solid experience in event planning and execution

  • Demonstrates discipline of a process-oriented attention to detail

  • Possesses and executes creatively while continually striving to drive innovation

  • Possesses excellent collaborator and communicator skills

  • Must have strong presentation skills

  • Can manage deadlines, assorted fire drills and multitask across many demands

  • Must be a team player who can jump in and assist on any task, as needed

  • Truly loves event management and brings enthusiasm and passion to the role

  • 3+ years event planning and management

  • 2-3 years experience leading and driving highly goal-oriented and business results teams

  • 3 years experience in developing campaign and engagement strategies

  • Proven and demonstrated results in exceeding revenue targets
