AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Entry-Level Transportation Planner for employment in the New York, NY office. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Transportation Policy Analysis, Transportation & Transit Planning Studies, traffic analysis and policy support tasks
Development of data collection programs for traffic and transit related projects
Research planning alternatives and analyses for transportation related planning projects
Conduct alternative analysis for transportation planning related projects including roadway, transit and aviation projects
Position will interact with both clients and staff
May be required make professional presentations to client or agency representatives from time to time
Interact with multi-discipline and multi-office teams within AECOM
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in traffic or transportation engineering/design or other related field
Diverse experience in transportation planning and development, and local government planning/transportation/transit policies and procedures. Must have working knowledge and understanding of industry related analyses and development concepts as they pertain to land use, traffic, transportation and urban planning/policy. Experience in applying policy and urban design guidelines/standards for infrastructure based studies/projects to identify and evaluate alternatives
Must be able to develop documents in MS Office
Effective time-management, written communications, analytical, and interpersonal skills
Solid decision-making, planning and organizational skills
Master's degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in traffic or transportation engineering/design or other related field
Excel/Access Database development/analysis
