Verizon Major Deal Pursuit Leader in New York, New York

What you’ll be doing...

As a Major Deal Pursuit Leader, you’ll drive the sales process and outcomes on a dedicated basis for major managed services and outsourced deals, growing a profitable pipeline, and closing major ICT deals with a valuation of 25M to 300M dollars through deal origination, sales negotiations, and closure. You’ll set the deal direction and manage the deliverance of assigned pursuit roles achieving order, revenue, deal margin, and cost objectives.

  • You’ll contribute to the firm's growth and development through world class deal creation and management. Responsibilities associated with the position include:

  • Engagement initiation and management.

  • Leading engagement planning and budgeting.

  • Mobilizing and managing deal teams.

  • Defining deliverable structure and content.

  • Facilitating buy-in of proposed solutions from top management levels at the client.

  • Directing on-time, quality delivery of work products.

  • Managing engagement economics.

  • Managing engagement risk.

  • Managing day-to-day interaction with executive clients and sponsors.

  • Participating in business development.

  • Developing and maintaining contact with executive decision makers at key clients.

  • Organizing and leading pursuit teams.

  • Participating and leading aspects of the proposal development process.

  • Contributing to the development of proposal pricing strategies.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.

  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.

  • Experience working in a similar industry as Verizon.

  • Experience leading and closing a minimum of one complex integration deal with TCV of 25 million dollars or more, involving at least two of the following: people /asset transfer, contract innovations, partner services, and multi-country requirements; and/or experience having led, implemented, and operationally managed similar transactions as the end-user.

  • First degree qualified, and/or relevant chartered institute member, and /or industry recognized accreditations.

  • Line / matrix management experience of significant (i.e., 30 or more) multi-function teams.

  • Experience successfully working with and presenting to a variety of audiences, including up to the executive board level in major publically traded organizations.

  • Experience having led (or served as second chair) business case development and subsequent commercial contracting/negotiating expertise gained in the above environments.

  • Willingness to travel 50% or more.

  • A valid driver’s license.

Even better if you have:

  • MS degree in Engineering or another technical discipline.

  • MBA degree.

  • Ten or more years of industry experience in networked IT services / telecoms; having both domestic and international responsibilities.

  • Six or more years of experience managing 20-million dollars of annual revenue of cost responsibilities.

  • Extensive outsourcing / out-tasking /off shoring expertise, including operating as the lead executive for the end-user, or services supplier, or both, involving multi-country requirements.
