Deloitte Manager, Marketplace and Client Research and Information Management—Audit & Assurance Marketplace Development & Industry (MD&I) in New York, New York

Our MD&I team is a group of professionals in the audit and assurance practice responsible for driving the practice s growth, industry, and client retention initiatives. The team comprises audit practitioners, marketing professionals, researchers, and application developers who advance and execute growth and client retention strategies providing broad-based support to partners, directors, and senior managers in the field pursuing new business and serving our clients.

Work you ll do

As a Manager within our Marketplace and Client Research and Information Management Team, you willbe responsible for conducting research in support of audit leadership and audit s strategic priorities as well as pursuit and client service teams in winning and retaining business for the audit practice. Your responsibilities will involve:

  • Research

  • Prepare research and presentations to increase client service professional s business knowledge, build client/pursuit relationships, inform audit leadership; this includes:

  • Preparing background research on audit clients/pursuits, C-suite executives and board members, industries and markets, and competitor activities

  • Prioritizing and coordinating research projects with a small team of other research professionals

  • Providing research guidance/training as needed to internal clients and colleagues

  • Assist in identifying, evaluating and recommending new data providers to meet the needs of our audit and assurance practice

  • Project management

  • Act as project manager for certain significant MD&I projects, coordinate and track all significant work streams, manage meetings and report to team and leadership on progress

  • Innovation and data quality

  • Data quality and integrity is paramount to all of our deliverables and reporting. Attention to detail is critical. The successful candidate will be able to:

  • Ensure information quality across a variety of systems and initiatives in order to deliver to audit leadership and other key stakeholders accurate information for decision-making; this includes:

  • Testing and reviews on Marketplace & Risk Intelligence applications and deliverables to ensure that business needs are met

  • Participate in the development of new products and/or product improvements to meet needs of the audit business

  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • 5-7 years of relevant experience is required, MLS or equivalent preferred

  • Experience with research databases and web-based information tools is necessary

  • Experience performing project tasks independently within a virtual team environment

  • Project management skills and the ability to work effectively and collaborate with all levels in a large, matrixed organization

  • Participate in and/or lead development of deliverable content that meets the needs of the client

  • Understanding of the audit practice, pursuing audits, and the audit marketplace is preferred

  • Skeptical mindset always questioning accuracy never assuming - and taking ownership of results

  • Pedantic attention to details to ensure high quality deliverables

  • Positive attitude

  • Fosters teaming and collaboration

  • Ability to analyze and think critically - synthesize information concisely, and communicate results and recommendations clearly

  • Ability to prioritize workload, manage multiple tasks to meet deadlines and work objectives

  • Comfortable interacting with all levels of management

  • Excellent written and oral communications skills

  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills, particularly with PowerPoint and Excel
