The Manager of 5G Strategy holds a key role in helping shape this new path. He/she will serve as internal consultant/advisor to business unit and functional group senior leadership on a range of projects from definition and articulation of business strategy to design and execution of new growth opportunities. Within the Corporate Strategy team, youwill role-model the new Verizon 2.0 way of working that builds on customer centricity, collaboration and innovation to drive positive change.
In this role you will lead analysis & solution development of key business challenges to drive new growth and value opportunities across a swiftly dynamic and innovative business environment.You will also leverage critical thinking & sharp problem solving skills (e.g., data-backed analysis, data science tools, valuation methods, hypothesis-driven approach, research & strategy frameworks) to support the design & execution of new solutions.This includes providing support & accelerated execution of strategic initiatives, working alongside leaders to ensure effective implementation, governance, communication and change management. You'll collaborate with internal stakeholders & business leaders on cross-functional growth initiatives; designing blueprints for new ways of working and other disciplines.Develop new capabilities that enable Verizon to build its own “strategic muscle” best suited for its business needs, building data-driven solutions. You will also coach junior members of the team to enhance their personal effectiveness & ability to make a positive impact.All of this while contributingto a high-performing team of problem solvers from various disciplines who are committed to driving profitable growth & innovation across the company.
What we’re looking for...
You'll need to have:
Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
Six or more years of relevant work experience.
Even better if you have:
A strong background in consulting and/or strategy with a focus on either emerging technology or telecommunications
Experience in a leadership role responsible for the design, development, and implementation of a strategic plan for an organization, company or business unit.
Two or more years in a tier 1 management consulting firm or an investment bank.
Experience working with telecom and technology clients.
Business knowledge in telecom, technology and corporate finance experience.
Experience with developing data analytics tools, big data and ML – pulling together information from a wide variety of sources quickly; familiarity working with structured, unstructured, and raw data to drive analysis.
Bias for action, intellectual curiosity, and passion for the mission.
Ability to translate complex ideas and express them in concise, simple to understand ways.
Ability to work across the organization - working with senior staff members in line and staff organizations.
Experience creating and presenting presentations to all levels of an organization.
Ability to drive cross-functional teams to meet business objectives and influence co-workers while fostering strong working relationships.
Experience handling confidential information appropriately.
Passion for technology-backed, transformative industries.
Master’s degree or MBA.
