Job Summary

AECOM is searching for an energetic and forward-thinking Manager of Social Media Strategy to join our team. Reporting to the Director of Public Relations within our Global External Communications Center of Excellence, this role is responsible for the strategic development of a comprehensive, cohesive social media strategy to further the AECOM brand and visibility in the marketplace. Combining creative thinking and best practices with a metrics-based approach, the successful candidate will ensure that brand awareness is enhanced through multiple social media channels while ensuring alignment of AECOM’s social presence with our strategic growth strategies. Responsibilities include:

  • Designing short- and long-term social media strategies to support overall company brand, initiatives and campaigns.

  • Developing content strategy and cadence for all enterprise social media accounts.

  • Partnering with key internal stakeholders to execute global campaigns, and ensure collaboration and adoption of strategies.

  • Guiding decision-making regarding adoption and use of new social media features/platforms.

  • Guiding cross-functional owners of social media sub-accounts to ensure alignment with overall social media strategy.

  • Developing and leading monthly social media training and best practices webinars.

  • Developing approaches to monitoring engagement, sentiment and other KPIs.

  • Defining metrics to report on social performance to senior leadership.

  • Overseeing social listening and advising on crisis response strategy.

  • Developing/overseeing social media policies, procedures and guidance.

  • Serving as a key resource for brand ambassadors and executives to enhance their social media presence.

Minimum Requirements

Successful candidates must possess demonstrated social media expertise in the following areas: development of long-term social media strategies, including content strategies; social media best practices; social publishing platforms; and monitoring and metrics. Additional skills, experience and attributes include:

  • Four or more years of experience managing social media strategy for large, complex organizations.

  • Hands-on experience using social media to amplify brand awareness.

  • Deep knowledge of social media publishing platforms, analytics and social listening tools.

  • Strong background in providing metrics-based recommendations to improve engagement and increase followership.

  • Experience distilling relevant content from multiple internal and external sources to develop compelling messaging across a variety of social channels.

  • Ability to work in a highly matrixed organization with multiple stakeholders.

  • A team player with excellent multitasking skills.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, journalism or related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior B2B related experience with a global organization.
