IBM SAFe Agile Transformation Senior Managing Consultant in New York, New York

Job Description

As a SAFe Agile Transformation Consultant within the North America GBS Agile Center of Competency, you will join a team of IBMers who address some of society’s most complex problems with game-changing business and technology. You will drive market leadership and innovation by supporting all stages of the application life cycle, through Agile methodology to deliver high quality custom applications.

Successful candidates for this role have demonstrated a deep knowledge and understanding of Scaled Agile Scrum concepts, practices, and principles and have extensive hands-on experience implementing Scaled Agile Scrum inside organizations as a Scaled Agile Scrum Master, product owner, or team member.

Some of the duties you will perform:

  • Guide SAFe agile practice planning and implementation at the portfolio and business executive stakeholder levels

  • Provide guidance on SAFe adoption and foster the executive lean agile mindset and culture

  • Work with program leaders to adopt and grow SAFe culture, mindset and processes

  • Work with program leaders and agile coaches to identify and disposition SAFe adoption blockers

  • Coach Release Train Engineers. As needed, initially act as the RTE to facilitate SAFe Agile Release Train (ART) start up

  • Foster a SAFe community of Practice and provide leadership on current SAFe best practices

  • Work with program teams to tailor SAFe practices and define roadmaps for adoption

  • Report on achievements and recommended areas of focus

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • At least 2 years transforming ecosystems to SAFe

  • At least 5 years transformation consulting

  • At least 8 years coaching SAFe programs

  • At least 15 years of experience in their area of chosen competence (Business or IT)

Preferred Tech and Prof Experience

  • Must be Certified SAFe Program Consultant (SPC) at 4.5

  • Experience teaching SAFe 4.5 courses.

  • Strong communication skills (Verbal, oral and written)

  • Certification in their chosen field of expertise
