This position (office location flexible), is responsible for providing strategic marketing and communications direction and leadership for Deloitte s Strategy & Analytics Offering Portfolio.

The Strategic Marketing Planner (SMP) oversees strategy and planning for integrated marketing campaigns that support a Deloitte business and industry programs. Senior Manager SMPs serve as trusted marketing advisors to their business leaders and key stakeholders. Responsible for developing strategic marketing plans for best-in-class marketing operations as well as oversight for marketing campaign execution. In addition, Senior Manager SMPs build specific programs, utilizing innovative, go-to-market tools and approaches, to bring the full capabilities of the firm to bear with maximize reach and impact to the market.

What you ll do

As a Senior Strategic Marketing Planner (SMP) in Deloitte Services LP, a subsidiary of the Deloitte US Firms, you will contribute to the growth and development of our organization in a variety of ways, including:

  • In conjunction with Business Chief Marketing Officer (BCMO) and Group Lead SMP, SMP will serve as team lead for bringing the strategic priorities of the Strategy & Analytics Offering Portfolio to market

  • With BCMO, Group Lead SMP, and PPMD stakeholders as appropriate, vets requests for marketing support within areas of responsibility

  • Works with BCMO, Group Lead SMP and stakeholders to initiate and support development of strategic marketing campaigns in support of priorities

  • Coordinates with Internal Communications around initiation and development of strategic marketing campaigns

  • Collaborates with PR team to drive media coverage when applicable

  • Manages the overall portfolio of campaigns and activities to ensure proper prioritization and utilization of appropriate resources

  • Develops strategic briefs (business case) for prioritized marketing campaigns; Drives approval process for campaigns with key leadership

  • Engages other SMPs to coordinate campaign activities and pull in other capabilities, as appropriate

  • Engages Campaign Management in execution of campaigns; oversee, in conjunction with Marketing Services, delivery of campaigns

  • Manages overall marketing calendar, including major campaigns, product/offering launches, major events, and core marketing maintenance activities

  • Plans and manages marketing budgets for campaigns in conjunction with Campaign Management

  • Serves as marketing advisor to key stakeholders within areas of responsibility assists with articulation of value propositions, develops marketing objectives in support of key priorities and serves as connection point across the firm

  • Brings innovative thinking and marketing practices to all marketing activities

  • Along with Marketing Services, develops metrics and KPIs to assess campaign success at the campaign, activity and channel levels to inform future campaign tactics

  • Engage The Green Dot Agency, our internal agency, in execution of campaigns; oversee, in conjunction with The Green Dot Agency, delivery of campaigns

  • 5-15% travel required

  • Ability to grasp a deep understanding of the Consulting business and its strategies, with a focus on the core business issues

  • Ability to make connections in highly matrixed environment, with an eye on integration

  • Executive presence, professional client service manner, demonstrated ability to take initiative

  • High level of comfort with ambiguity and fluid priorities; ability to manage multiple and complex priorities

  • Strong persuasive communication skills; able to gain consensus through influence and pivot when warranted

  • Strong negotiation and problem solving skills; flexibility and adaptability

  • Ability to work in a virtual environment

  • Strategic and innovative thinker

Qualifications include:


  • 12 years of experience in marketing, with a focus on marketing and communications strategy and planning

  • Deep understanding of marketing planning with an ability to execute tactically

  • Deep understanding of integrated marketing and communications strategies and how they come together to provide measurable results

  • Strong persuasive communication skills, both written and verbal; ability to gain consensus through influence

  • Previous experience leading and developing a team of junior level talent

  • Previous experience in B2B marketing

  • Superior Microsoft Office skills (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); familiarity with integrating various technologies to support marketing efforts

  • Undergraduate degree, ideally with a focus in Marketing

  • 5-15% travel


Master s Degree, MBA preferable
