AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Senior Transportation Planner for employment in the New York, NY office.

This is a part-time variable position, meaning work days and times will be determined on an as-needed basis.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Transportation Policy Analysis, Transportation & Transit Planning Studies analysis and policy support tasks

  • Development of Public Outreach Plans, for traffic and transit related projects

  • Outreach coordination of agency, public and internal projects

  • Research planning alternatives and analyses for transportation related planning projects

  • Conduct alternatives analysis for transportation planning related projects including roadway, transit and aviation projects

  • Position will interact with both clients and staff

  • Make professional presentations to client or agency representatives from time to time

  • Interact with multi-discipline and multi-office teams within AECOM

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in traffic or transportation engineering/design or other related field

  • 10+ years of experience in transportation planning and development, and local government planning/transportation/transit policies and procedures

  • Must have working knowledge and understanding of industry related analyses and development concepts as they pertain to land use, traffic, transportation and urban planning/policy Experience in applying policy and urban design guidelines/standards for infrastructure based studies/projects to identify and evaluate alternatives

  • Must be able to develop documents in MS Office

  • Position requires effective time-management, written communications skills, analytical, and interpersonal skills

  • Successful candidate will be articulate with professional presence, with solid decision-making, planning and organizational skills
