POSITION SUMMARY

The mission of Consumer Health and Services (CHS) at Aetna is to build the leading health services franchise in the world, based on cutting edge analytics to influence consumer and provider behavior, resulting in improved health and more efficient resource utilization.

Analytics and Behavior Change (ABC) is an integral part of the CHS organization which embeds world class analytic insights into key decision processes throughout the organization, focuses on our biggest, most complex problems and drives measurable impact on performance.

This position will report into Head of Strategy for Analytics and play a critical role in shaping and developing the enterprise and non-clinical data (i.e. wearable, fitness, nutrition and other lifestyle data) strategy. This is a high profile position with high visibility to senior leadership.

Fundamental Components:

  • Analyze ABCs strategic objectives, as well as industry trends to identify, recommend and pursue initiatives and technologies that can meet those investment objectives

  • Develop short to long term strategic clinical data roadmap for the ABC organization that can be leveraged for modeling, products, programs

  • Partner, source data, evaluate and execute with numerous external data and research companies to select partnerships that will help Aetna achieve its analytic and product/program goals

  • Develop and drive analytics scorecard metrics and overall KPI tracking to track and capture medical cost savings. Partakes in ongoing market and competitive analysis to aid in strategic decision making

  • Participate in special projects that impact entire A&BC and CHS organization

  • Lead and manage development of board presentations and supporting documents and formal recommendations to senior leadership

  • Develop relationships with internal peers, external consultants and cross-functional team members as required in support of initiatives

    BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE desired:

  • Experience as an analyst and management consultant

  • Minimum 3 years experience in a mix of strategy, consulting, venture capital, private equity, investment, strategy or corporate development roles at healthcare or technology firm

  • Effective communication/influencing skills applied to broad internal/external audience

  • Demonstrates effective business acumen and strategic thinking

  • 2+ years in a top healthcare or strategy consulting role or corporate strategy/innovation/ research analyst experience, combined with relevant industry experience

    EDUCATION

Masters degree desired, PHD aplus
