PwC Tax Finance Senior Manager - NY Metro in New York, New York

A career in Finance, within Internal Firm Services, will provide you with the opportunity to help PwC in all aspects of our Finance internal function including financial planning and reporting, data analysis, and assisting leadership with overall strategy. You’ll focus on recording and analysing financial transactions, paying and receiving invoices, maintaining financial statement ledger accounts, and preparing analysis and reconciliations of bills to detect fraud.

Our Financial Analysis and Reporting team is responsible for managing PwC’s financial risk through financial planning and reporting, data analysis, and tactical consulting. As part of the team, you’ll help with budget management, cost benefit analysis, forecasting, shared services and financing.

Responsibilities

As a Senior Manager, you’ll work as part of a team of problem solvers with extensive consulting and industry experience, helping our clients solve their complex business issues from strategy to execution. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Proactively assist in the management of a portfolio of clients, while reporting to Directors and above

  • Be involved in the financial management of clients

  • Be actively involved in business development activities to help identify and research opportunities on new/existing clients

  • Develop project strategies to solve complex technical challenges for our clients

  • Manage and deliver large projects by developing the project team, assessing engagement risks throughout, driving conclusions, and reviewing / challenging the output produced by the team

  • Shape and deliver projects to meet and exceed the expectations of our clients and our own quality criteria

  • Train, coach, and supervise team members

  • Continue to develop internal relationships and developing your PwC brand

Demonstrates intimate knowledge and/or a proven record of success in the following areas: - The firm's financial model, policies and procedures, and financial systems; - Key business and strategic priorities; and, - Leadership and management to a team providing technical financial specialization in the areas of financial analysis, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cost control, etc.

Demonstrates intimate abilities and/or a proven record of success in the following areas: - Providing key financial support services to the National Line of Service finance team, including regions and Business Unites, as well as U.S. and IFS finance teams; - Exercising significant influence on process design, system design, reporting design and provision of timely and relevant financial information to Line of Service finance leaders; - Developing budgets, forecasts, trend analyses, profit analyses, and other financial reports for a Line of Service; - Influencing the content of Firm budgetary guidance/provisions; - Defining and leading the day-to-day annual operating budget process; - Liaising with U.S. and IFS Finance on behalf of the Line of Service as well as working with U.S. Finance on change management; - Demonstrating experience with flash reporting of semi-monthly and monthly results; - Providing ad hoc financial analyses, reporting and assistance to Line of Service Controller in the areas of operational analysis and cost management; - Identifying unfavorable spending trends; - Developing new tools to provide for meaningful analytical review of key financial areas, particularly visualization and modeling tools; - Coaching and developing team to enhance their learning and facilitate succession planning; and, - Being a technical resource within the Line of Service providing subject matter specialist on firm reporting, budgeting, results analysis and related matters.
