Deloitte Technology Product Development Lead/Manager - Advisory in New York, New York
Risk and Financial Advisory Overview:
Our Risk and Financial Advisory group is comprised of more than 10,000 partners, managers and staff. We help solve our clients most complex financial instrument and physical market challenges by delivering risk advisory, technical accounting, quantitative, technology and operational advisory services. Specifically, our consulting projects include risk assessment and solution implementation for business strategies and policies, business processes, organization structure, risk modeling, management reporting and treasury, trading and risk systems. We help clients obtain, analyze and report information from multiple sources and across risk classes to facilitate tactical and strategic decision making.
Work You ll Do
The Technology Product Lead will lead a cross-functional team to define next generation, client-facing technology products across our service lines and industries. This role will interface with other Product Managers, Business Analysts, UX Designers, Solution Architects, Engineering, Software Application Testing, and Operations teams and provide project management leadership for ideation, conceptualization & development efforts.
Collaboration and Portfolio Governance
Regularly collaborate with other areas like Finance, Talent/HR, Marketing, Risk and other teams to implement a support network for Product Managers
Oversee the portfolio of product within RFA and monitor product performance on various strategic and financial parameters through a quarterly business review process
Work with senior leadership to develop a product portfolio strategy for all RFA products
Internal Project Reporting and Administration
Track and report key project metrics on a regular basis.
Keep an accurate risk tracking document with an associated mitigation plan.
Develop management reporting templates to capture and report performance information
Customer and Internal Stakeholder Management
Work closely with product Leaders/Product Managers to refine and enhance their respective product strategy, customer value proposition, etc
Continually seeks opportunities to increase user satisfaction and deepen cross- functional team relationships
Builds a knowledge base of customers and internal stakeholders business, organization and objectives
Manages day-to-day cross-functional team interaction.
Sets and manages team expectations
Communicates effectively with internal stakeholders to identify needs and evaluate alternative business solutions
Project Accounting and Finance
Understands product revenue models, P&L, and cost-to-completion projections and makes decisions accordingly
Understands our pricing model and billing procedures, and assist on large proposals (on a selective basis)
Comfortable with public speaking and with senior executives
Work with product owner to ensure they achieve an understanding of expectations, deliverables, dependencies, risks, progress and the development process
If needed, create customized reporting for the product owners
Use sound judgment in all project communication and ensure that internal stakeholders understand key message
Team, client and management are appraised of project activities in a timely manner.
Communicate progress, risks, expectations, timelines, milestones and other key project metrics to Business Unit Leadership and cross functional team
Ensure all appropriate project document is archived and available to cross functional team members
Work closely with our US India Leadership team to implement the overall Product Strategy
Ensure all offshore project teams are well aligned and integrated with their onshore counterparts (working with product leaders/product managers)
Bachelor s Degree in a technical major and/or relevant experience required; MBA preferred
Minimum 2 years of experience in business process, project management, software product development
Good general management focus with good understanding of business finance/accounting
Prior consulting experience in strategy and operations, finance transformation or other advisory capacity strongly preferred
Must be comfortable analyzing numbers, developing insights and developing presentations to present these insights
Must have strong analytical and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to professional and client service excellence
Must be able to balance a number of tasks, work to deadlines and product quality deliverables, in addition to develop good working relationships
Ability to foster strong relationships and operating rhythms with leaders both inside and outside client and product teams to implement effective user experiences
Experience in leading on-site and globally disbursed multiple project teams concurrently
Experience in closely working with Product Managers/Owners and technical team members including Architects & Engineers
Experience in communicating technical and non-technical topics with a wide range of stakeholders, internally and externally
Ability to define and implement project metrics for scope, schedule, cost and quality
Strong MS PowerPoint visual design and storyboarding skills and advanced MS Excel skills required
Ability to influence others and mentor junior members and ability to work with and guide the IT Operations team
Must have strong organizational skills, critical reasoning and decision-making skills
Ability to operate independently and thrive within a fast-paced work environment
Must be able to travel up to 50%
