Job Description

Watson Media is seeking a Sales Engineer. As a Watson Media Sales Engineer, you will gather technical requirements from prospective and current customers and work closely with the sales, support, offering and engineering departments to offer solutions that fit the customer’s needs. You are responsible for actively driving and managing the technology evaluation stages of the sales process, working in conjunction with the sales team as the key technical advisor and product advocate. You will become an IBM and industry thought leader on the future of Video and AI. You will work with Watson Media Sellers and IBM Brand Specialists, as well as extended IBM team members around the world.

  • Understand IBM Watson, AI for Media and machine learning principles

  • Articulate technology and product positioning to both business and technical users

  • Assist in identifying and translating customer requirements and business needs

  • Convey customer requirements to Offering Management teams and assist bringing new products to market

  • Assess market competition by comparing the company's product to competitors' products

  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing market publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • At least 5 years of professional technical sales experience in live and on demand Video Solutions

  • Strong presentation and demo skills including the ability to present remotely, in person and in front of large groups

  • Self-starter who is energetic & enthusiastic, confident, adaptable & customer-oriented

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines across various client groups Experience creating services proposal and Statements of Work

Preferred Tech and Prof Experience

  • Experience with digital archiving in the Media and Entertaining industry

  • Network Engineering or CDN experience

  • Consulting or Services practitioner experience
