What you’ll be doing...
The Sr. Manager - Network Assurance is responsible for assuring day to day network performance and reliability, for best customer experience in the market. This includes the training and continued development of the workforce as well as organizing and scheduling the resources necessary to support a broad range of network elements. This includes the timely installation and maintenance of transport facilities, software translations, hardware/software upgrades, and router/switch upgrades, IP configurations, RAN Antenna Performance and Interference troubleshooting, Cell Site Call Testing and Site Activations in the designated market regions as well as Mobile Switch Center building/grounds daily operation. Equipment that this position is responsible for includes but is not limited to: BTS's, enodeB's, IBR/DAS, RRH, Small Cells, Nodes, EPDR assets, IP infrastructure, routers, switches, voicemail services, EBH, microwave, lit/dark fiber, ADM's, DACS, MSPP, AC/DC Power Equipment, HVAC and generators.
The Sr. Manager - Network Assurance directs and supervises the System and Field Assurance Engineers and includes responsibilities associated with the proper integration, activation, maintenance and ongoing operations of all core RF, transport/backhaul, and data elements as well as the physical plant necessary to deliver on our network reliability brand promise.
This position is also responsible for managing the operation and maintenance of all technologies necessary to expand and evolve the network to meet customer demand for new and improved service offerings. This includes timely support of both capital and expense projects while delivering upon financial targets/goals.
This position must effectively interface and provide support to all other local departments in the organization, such as: Construction, RF, Performance, Engineering, Facilities and Sales on a daily basis to ensure growth schedules are being met.
The Sr. Manager - Network Assurance must also effectively interact with HQ organizations such as NRB, NOC, Compliance and NNO Engineering and Operations. Ensures the security, safety, and environmental compliance of systems and facilities are in accordance with corporate guidelines.
The Sr. Manager - Network Assurance is a strong and effective people leader, leading system and field engineers through change as our network and skillsets transform, and is skilled at coaching, inspiring, teaching and administrative skills. They are an excellent team player, partnering well with other market network teams to continue to ensure best in class great lakes results, as well as removing roadblocks to make the field teams more productive. Strong computer skill, excel and data analysis are foundations to identifying areas for focus and improvement.
What we’re looking for...
You’ll need to have:
Bachelor’s degree preferred or Associate’s degree in technical discipline
Six or more years of relevant work experience.
Valid driver’s license.
Even better if you have:
Availability to work flexible hours including evenings, nights and weekends and sometimes holidays as required.
Experience in networking including IP addressing, routing and Ethernet switching.
Knowledge of call flow for a voice and/or data session describing network elements from cell to Internet.
Knowledge of wireless cell site base station, routerandantenna equipment.
Experience and knowledge in the use of circuit and RAN test equipment and network monitoring applications.
Fiber knowledge of both lit/dark
Effective written and oral communication skills
Adaptive to change – openness to different viewpoints and ability to learn new skills and concepts as our network transforms
Demonstrated effective coaching, feedback and teamwork skills.
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, Data Networks / Communications.
Six or more years of relevant experience in one or more of the following fields; wireless networks, telecommunications, radio communications, IP networks with two or more years of managerial/leadership experience.
Strong RF Network Performance or Networking background.
Previous service provider experience in MSC and/or Cell Operations. Maintenance preferred. Experience with Cisco, ALU /Nokia infrastructure.
High level of leadership, managerial skills, administrative skills,andprofessionalism.
A clearunderstanding of radio transmitters, receivers, antennas, electronic theory, and applications.
Experience and knowledge of Transmission facilities and network protocols (IP, Ethernet Backhaul, Dark Fiber).
