A person in this position will perform scheduled and unscheduled corrosion control maintenance on assigned aircraft. Inspections include but are not limited to, aircraft structures, skin surfaces, removed aircraft components, landing gear, and flight control surfaces. This mechanic must knowledgeable in all forms of aircraft corrosion detection, prevention and treatment. Upon detection of an affected aircraft area, this mechanic must be able to perform the proper corrective action. Upon completion of this maintenance action, this mechanic must be able to enter in the maintenance records, description of the work performed and verifies the work was performed correctly and complies with all customer requirements.
This mechanic will use hand tools, power tools, and equipment such as orbital sanders, high speed pneumatic grinders and aircraft paint guns. This mechanic will read and interpret aircraft maintenance manuals, service bulletins, technical data, engineering data, and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repair. This mechanic performs daily, periodic, and other hourly or calendar inspections. This mechanic can be called on to supervise other junior in grade employees and perform in-process and final inspections of any maintenance performed in this area of expertise and will keep aircraft in safe operating condition. This mechanic will be required to work with various hazardous materials and must be knowledgeable in their storage, use and disposal.

High School graduate or equivalent with a minimum three (3) years actual and recent organizational level aircraft corrosion control/aircraft painting experience
Prior U.S. Navy E-2C/C-2A corrosion control experience is preferred.
Knowledge and use of special tools/equipment required to perform assigned maintenance tasks is mandatory.
Must have completed military aviation maintenance training course C-600-3183 or equivalent. Completion of course C-600-3182.
Final Paint and Finish is required. Must have completed an approved U.S. Navy Aircraft Corrosion Control and Aircraft Painting Course or equivalent.
Shift work is required.
Ability to read and interpret technical publications, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
Must be able to meet physical requirements associated with and/or pass any medical examination requirements related to performing daily assigned tasks including a respirator physical.
There is a great deal of standing, climbing, bending and stooping. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
Have the ability to obtain your Collateral Duty Inspector certification within a set time frame.
Be able to inspect and operate ground support and auxiliary equipment.
Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English.
Must be able to obtain an approved status from the Contractor Verification System which includes a 7 year back ground check and obtain a Security Clearance for Public trust.
Due to the nature of the work, candidate must be US Citizen.
