Job Summary

The Aircraft Mechanic 1 Powerplants, Performs maintenance on T56-A-427 Power plants and Propeller the related systems. Troubleshoot discrepancies on all Engine components and the related systems.

This mechanic will be knowledgeable on engine components, function and location while knowing the theory of operation of a T56-A-427 or E-2C and HE2K. A Mechanic 1; will be required to perform Low and High power operational checks of aircrafts engines and its systems, as they maintain of this proficiency of this qualification.

The Mechanic will be required to have the knowledge of components, removal, inspection and installation of aircraft engine. While using hand tools, power tools, machines, and ground support equipment.

This worker can reads and interprets manufacturers' maintenance manuals, service bulletins, technical data, engineering data, and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components.

This mechanic performs phase, periodic, other hourly and calendar inspections; adjusts actuating controls and mechanisms; inspect temperature indicating components for cracks, corrosion, foreign object damage, burned areas, distortions, security, warping, wear, and missing segments; bleed air and anti-ice systems; assists with inventory of equipment, orders parts, equipment, material, and tools; operates portable testers. Work involves: replacing or repairing worn or damaged components. Perform post-flight maintenance inspections Daily and Turnaround inspection..

This mechanic will assist in the jacking and towing of aircraft; enters in the maintenance records description of work performed and verifies the work was performed satisfactorily; may service engines and airframe components at line station making repairs, short of overhaul; required to keep aircraft in safe operating condition.

  • High School graduate or equivalent with a minimum three (3) years’ experience on E-2C (Group 1, 2, or HE2K) is required.

  • Must have completed Aviation Machinist’s Mate, Class A1, (AD1) “A” school and E-2C CENNAVAVNTECHTRAU.

  • Documented NALCOMIS/OOMA and COMNAVAIRFORINST 4790.2 (series) program experience a plus.

  • Shift work and detachment is required. Knowledge and use of special tools/equipment required to perform assigned maintenance tasks is mandatory.

  • Must be able to meet physical requirements associated with and/or pass any medical examination requirements related to performing daily assigned tasks.

  • Be able to inspect and operate ground support and auxiliary equipment.

  • Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English.

  • Must be able to obtain an approved status from the Contractor Verification System which includes a 7 year back ground check and obtain a Security Clearance for Public trust.
