Merck 2021 Oncology Publication Coordinator Intern in North Wales, Pennsylvania

Job Description

The Future Talent Program features internships that lasts up to 12 weeks and will include one or more projects. These opportunities in our Research Labs can provide you with great development and a chance to see if we are the right company for your long-term goals.

Our Global Scientific and Medical Publications (GSMP) group works with the Clinical team to write publications reporting the results of our clinical trials for presentation at scientific congresses and publication in medical journals. We are seeking a summer intern who will work collaboratively in a team environment. The intern will function as a fully-integrated member of a therapeutic area publication team. The intern in GSMP will also participate in departmental and project team meetings to provide a broad perspective on the publication development and dissemination process in the pharmaceutical industry.

The intern will work closely with GSMP personnel to assist with tracking, database entry, updates, reports and assistance with publication team documents. The intern will work in various knowledge management databases related to publications.

We are seeking intern candidates at all levels with strong academic performance, project management skills, communication skills, teamwork, and the ability to work in a multi- functional environment.

Required Education and Skills:

  • Candidates must be a currently enrolled undergraduate sophomore, junior, or senior student pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Medical Communications or Health Sciences or Biology or a Master’s in Library/Information Science.

  • Candidates must be available to work full-time for up to (12) consecutive weeks beginning in May or June of 2021.

  • Candidates must have completed at least (2) years of studies toward bachelor’s degree by June 2021.

  • Candidates must have good interpersonal and written communication skills.

  • Candidates must have proficiency in Microsoft applications.

Preferred Experience and Skills:

  • Candidates should have significant interest in medical communications.

  • Candidates should have a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
