Department Functions:

Care Delivery Technology Services-Portfolio Operations group, which partners with IT project teams to deliver technology solutions that best meet the needs of Kaiser's members and clinicians.

Portfolio Operations empowers the delivery of systems and services that enable Total Health through best in class operations, planning, resourcing, communications and compliance. Top Projects/Initiatives include:

  • Fostering and sustaining an integrated compliance program

  • Delivering high quality projects on time and on budget

  • Maintaining, governing and supporting best-in-class delivery and application management standards

  • Maximizing and enabling our people with comprehensive growth, development, communications and recognition

  • Leveraging our purchasing power to optimize spend and vendor performance

  • Enabling information sharing and operational excellence in business management

Description of Intern Responsibilities:

The intern will primarily support two ongoing initiatives:

  • A nnual process for requesting funding for ongoing support of new care delivery applications

  • C lose partnership with the pharmacy application teams to review, evaluate, and document current application costs.

Essential Functions:

  • Contributing to a designated project or initiative to meet a KP business objective.

  • Report development and analytics.

  • Project management - planning, execution, and measurement.

  • Learning new applications needed to complete assignments or support the execution of business objectives.

  • Job shadowing in other functional areas.

  • Performing additional duties as required.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.

  • Pursuing a bachelor's degree or have graduated with a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university within the last year.

License, Certification, Registration

Additional Requirements:

  • Aptitude to perform data and process analytics and formulating solutions

  • Proven ability to build effective working relationships as well as strong interpersonal skills

  • Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3.0 GPA or above

  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to learn quickly and experience producing high quality work in short periods of time.

Desired Skills:Pivot tables, excellent written and verbal communication skills. experience developing reports and presentations that clearly and succinctly summarize research and analysis, attention to detail, and a willingness to be flexible when priorities change and assignments evolve.

Desired Major: Business Administration, Communications, or another Social Science field.
