Kaiser Permanente Senior Director Professional Development and Talent Management in Oakland, California
Responsible for facilitating the development, management and implementation of the National Patient Care Services Professional Development and Talent Management strategy and training programs in partnership with National leaders and regional leadership team. Serves as an advisor to the Senior Vice President of NPCS.
Develops and ensures that all education programs are aligned with Kaiser Permanente's and National Patient Care Service's organizational goals, objectives and strategic initiatives.
Provides leadership and direction for a sustainable learning strategy, planning, direction, delivery and evaluation of educational programming using all current distance learning modalities.
Manages ongoing administration of the Professional Development staff and administrative staff including, staff development, communication and performance development.
Manages and directs existing and develops new professional educational programs services in concert with members of the Cross Regional Nursing Strategic and Operational Council.
Serves as a strategic link between the 8 regions in relation to all nursing education courses and professional development.
Represents KP National Patient Care Services while participating in committees and work groups both regionally and nationally.
Serves as liaison between National Patient Care Services and Labor Management Partnership as it relates to the education and development of its members and KP employees.
Minimum twelve (12) years directly related experience required, to include seven (7) years experience training in the patient care field, and the design and development of nurse training programs in a large scale (regional or national) healthcare organization.
Minimum eight (8) years related management experience required.
Master's degree in Organizational Development, or directly related field required.
License, Certification, Registration
Extensive knowledge of training and development practices, leadership, team building, coaching skills.
In-depth understanding of adult learning theory, planning, development and evaluation.
Effective communication and presentation skills.
Must be able to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.
Seven (7) years experience developing talent strategies, programs, policies, and/or initiatives preferred.
Five (5) years experience in organizational effectiveness (e.g. change management, organization design and structure, structured decision making, leadership coaching, etc.) preferred.
Five (5) years experience managing operational or project budgets preferred.
Seven (7) years project management and/or process improvement experience, or related certification (e.g. PMP, Lean Six Sigma) preferred.
RN License preferred.
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Doctoral (Ph.D N) Degree in Organizational Development, or directly related field preferred.
