Job Summary

TheMaintenance Manageris responsible for the day-to-day maintenance operations of all assigned aircraft along with associated ground support equipment for assigned contract.

Principal Accountabilities

(Typical duties include the following, although specific duties vary by assignment or contract)

  • Ensures production schedule and deadlines are met and quality of workmanship complies with all directives and contract specifications.

  • Establishes good supply discipline, maintains good shop practices and enforces safety procedures.

  • Composes long range plans for the aircraft fleet maintenance program

  • Gives job assignments to assigned mechanics, coordinates with the maintenance test pilot, quality control technician and production control clerk.

  • Monitors aircraft maintenance practices.

  • Monitors assigned personnel in the performance of their duties.

  • Coordinates with other sections for specialized and logistical support.

  • Schedules work programs, sets timetables, measures progress, and redirects efforts as necessary.

  • Assists the manager on long-range plans for the maintenance and modification of assigned fleet.

  • May prepare proposals for the customer for modification, repair and maintenance of aircraft and equipment.

  • Enforces safety practices and environmental safety.

  • Trains personnel as required.

  • Performs other qualified duties as assigned

Knowledge & Skills

  • Possess thorough knowledge of assigned aircraft with a minimum of five years supervisory experience.

  • Skilled in the repair and modification of assigned aircraft and know the maintenance related operational limitations and parameters.

  • Possess the ability to plan, schedule and integrate complex events.

  • Ability to communicate well with workers and supervisors.

  • Thorough knowledge of hand tools, hardware and equipment used in the maintenance of assigned aircraft.

  • Must be fully knowledgeable of all requirements within the technical orders as they apply.

  • Ability to read, write and interpret technical data.

  • Excellent, communication, effective leadership and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to communicate fluently in the English language.

  • Working knowledge of various computer applications such as Microsoft Office applications (i.e. Excel, Word, Power Point, and Outlook).

Experience & Education

  • Qualified on the repair of assigned aircraft.

  • Minimum of seven years aircraft maintenance skills with five years of experience for the respective aircraft.

  • Possess a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) or Airframe and Power-plant License (A&P) OR Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Part I & Part III License

  • Minimum five years lead and/or supervisor experience in a fifteen person maintenance organization or larger.

  • Phase or Reset maintenance experience desired.

Physical Requirements/Working Environment

  • May be required to perform duties at remote and austere locations.

  • Must be able to withstand extreme temperatures and environments while working in field conditions.

  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds to waist level and 30 pounds to shoulder height.

Travel

  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally

  • Travel to austere or inhospitable high stress environments will be required.
