  • Job Summary *

Senior Logistics Automation Senior Advisor will serves as an expert operator of the Core Inventory Management System Enterprise Edition (Core IMS EE). Core IMS is used for inventory management and asset visibility to the Logistics Directorate. The position also provides technical, functional and implements the organizational directives of the Core IMS Logistics Inventory Management (LIM) team and serves as Senior Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Core IMS representing the Logistics Information Management Team of Afghanistan National Security Force Logistics (ANSF LOG). Provides advice and support on recommended action to senior Afghanistan National Army/Afghanistan National Police (ANA/ANP) leadership and Coalition leaders on effective implementation of CoreIMS EE demand base actions. Advises on accepted standards of logistics operations to include implementation of on-the-job-training (OJT) programs at, ANA/ANP depots.

  • Principal Accountabilities *

  • Supervises, plans, coordinates and directs the employment, operation, management, and unit level maintenance of multi-functional/multi-user information processing system in mobile and fixed facilities.

  • Responsible for supervising and performing management or warehouse functions in order to maintain equipment records and parts.

  • Establishes and maintains automated and manual accounting records, posts receipts and turn-ins, and performs dues-ins and dues-outs accounting.

  • Reviews and verifies quantities received against bills of lading, contracts, purchase requests, and shipping documents.

  • Maintains stock locator system and administers document control procedures. Prepares, annotates and distributes shipping documents.

  • Provides technical and tactical advice to command and staff concerning all aspects of information processing system operations, maintenance, and logistical support.

  • Mentors and advises the PMO, and ANA/ANP leadership, host nation nationals (HCN) and Coalitions leadership to include advisors on Core IMSEE as the automated inventory system used by ANA/ANP to track and manage all Afghan materiel which also includes medical and aircraft ground support branches of the ANA..

  • Supervises or prepares technical studies, evaluations, reports, correspondence, and records pertaining to multi-functional/multi-user information processing systems.

  • Supervises or plans, organizes, and conducts technical inspections.

  • Coordinates with ANA and ANP on the development of the Information Systems Plans (ISP), Information Management Plan (IMP) so that the automated system for Supply Chain Distribution will tie in with the information management master plan (IMMP).

  • Works with the Coalition and ANA/ANP in developing policy and procedures for facility operations and management. Provide storage site operations support for SME HCN with developed systems and processes on and training ANA/ANP personnel in the daily operations and duties using Core IMS EE; to include action need to request assistance for actions needed that is beyond their scope.

  • Works with the coalition and the ANA/ANP in enforcing information security (INFOSEC), Operations Security (OPSEC) and physical security per regulations and policies.

  • Supervises the preparation of technical studies, evaluations, reports, correspondence, software programs, and program editing, debugging, and associated functions.

  • Supervises the maintenance of records and reports pertaining to information system operations. Brief Coalition, ANA/ANP and outside staff and operations personnel on information systems matters. Coach ANA/ANP OIC’s, managers, supervisors, and leads on logistics operations to be able to conduct operations independent of outside assistance.

  • Position and assignment management, maintain contact and accountability, training and professional development.

  • Track progress through weekly reports and ad hoc communications i.e., email and phone calls. Review and consolidate weekly reports for trends, deficiencies and best practices.

  • Recommend corrective actions, solutions and mitigation efforts. Coordination and integration with the ANDSF and coalition advisors

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Knowledge & Skills *

  • Must understand advanced Supply Chain principles including warehousing and supply

  • Proficient in the full suite of Microsoft Office

  • Proficient in Core IMS EE (after training)

  • Dari fluency a plus but not necessary.

  • Experience & Education *

  • Must have an undergraduate degree in Supply Chain Management (SCM), logistics, business management, Information Technology or related field

  • Master’s degree a plus (In business, SCM (or related field), IT)

  • 7 years of SCM, IT or consulting experience required

  • Must have a final (not interim) Department of Defense (DoD) Secret Level Security Clearance before deployment and maintain that clearance.

  • Must have 3 years of managerial experience in IT implementation or SCM operations.

  • Physical Requirements/Working Environment *

  • Must pass all medical and fitness requirements directed by US Central Command (CENTCOM) in order to deploy.

  • Must be able to operate in harsh and austere conditions of Afghanistan

  • Travel *

  • Must be capable of daily travel in and around Kabul as well as to locations throughout Afghanistan.
