Job Summary

TheFleet Maintenance Manageris responsible for fleet maintenance management for assigned program, and includes leased, subcontracted, transitioned, and GFE assets comprised of, but not limited to, heavy/light vehicles, ATVs, and special purpose equipment such as construction and material handling equipment.

Principal Accountabilities

(Typical duties include the following, although specific duties vary by assignment or contract.)

  • Manage, control, develop, and execute activities associated with fleet maintenance plans to ensure fulfillment of contractual obligations including cost, quality, and compliance

  • Advise deployed fleet management who oversee initial upon-reception and/or final turn-in inspections, Estimated Cost of Damage (ECOD) Reports, requisitioning, processing, distribution, equipment retrofitting, warranty submissions, publications maintenance, and lease agreement preparations

  • Perform site visits to ensure assets are properly utilized and equipment is located at reported site

  • Coordinate with site managers, suppliers, and vendors for warranty issues and cross leveling of assets (ensuring sufficient capabilities are in place, using on-hand personnel and assets) to cover surge and demobilization requirements

  • Maintain maintenance vendor selections at a level to ensure proper maintenance and servicing is delivered

  • Monitor and verify that required plans and reports are completed accurately and timely input is made to all supporting automated systems

  • Attend meetings, provide briefings, and submit reports to Senior Management as required

  • Ensure a high degree of customer satisfaction by quality on-time fleet maintenance and best return for their investment

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Knowledge & Skills

  • Knowledge of maintenance production, production control, and maintenance support systems and procedures

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

  • Proficient at equipment distribution, warranty, and ECOD submissions

  • Exceptional team development and organizational skills

  • Additional knowledge/skills may be required by contract or assignment

Experience & Education

  • Minimum eight (8) years experience in logistics support of equipment maintenance with at least five (5) years in a maintenance management role

  • Bachelor’s degree in logistics, business, or associated discipline; may substitute two (2) years experience in related field for each year of college

  • Additional experience/education may be required by contract or assignment

Physical Requirements/Working Environment

  • CONUS:

o Generally works in normal office environment, but may be required to travel domestically and internationally on short notice, to austere environments, under harsh living conditions


o Some positions will be assigned to overseas locations where living and working conditions at assignment location could be remote and uncomfortable, with long hours, exposure to weather, dust, and hazardous/harsh conditions
