DynCorp International LLC. Supply Manager in OCONUS, Afghanistan

Job Summary

The Supply Manager will report directly to the Program Logistics Manager. His/her primary responsibility will be to order and receive site construction materials and maintain accountability of all received materials. He/she will perform a monthly inventory of the site’s materials and constantly communicate with the Program Logistics Manager and Site Project Manager to ensure all material is on hand or ordered in a timely manner.

Principle Accountabilities

  • Maintain a computerized database system for accomplishing parts and material purchases accomplished IAW Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR)

  • Develop and implement purchasing policy for review by the Logistics Manager

  • Review and evaluate all purchase requests for complete and accurate information

  • Track progress of materials/purchase requests to completion

  • Keep management advised of long-lead issues on critical materials

  • Communicate with vendors and suppliers to ensure efficient positive relations

  • Coordinate with vendors concerning prioritization of ordered materials

  • Plan and implement purchasing strategies and activities consistent with the overall aims and requirements of the contract

  • Reconcile and track Airway bills

  • Track on-hand stock levels and determine re-order points for all recurring purchase items

  • Conduct periodic inventory of all DI assets

  • Organize and manage purchase and inventory files

  • Supervise Local National purchasing staff

  • Other duties or tasks may be assigned on an as-needed basis

Knowledge & Skills

  • Must possess strong interpersonal, customer service and communicative skills (oral and written)

  • 5 years minimum experience managing and directing a project level Procurement/supply program

  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines

  • Have familiarity with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR)

  • Must have a clear understanding of basic inventory/supply management

Experience & Education

  • Four years of direct supply management related experience

  • Two (2) years of college. Each required year of college may be substituted with two (2) years of experience

Physical Requirements/Working Environment

  • Extreme danger, stress, physical hardships and possible field living conditions associated with this position within a desert camp complex

  • Must be able to work, kneel, bend, and stoop, and have correctable vision

  • Ability to cope with shared cafeteria, bath and sleeping quarters

  • The working environment may be remote, confined and isolated, and travel in the local area may be very restricted

  • This is an unaccompanied overseas position, and families are NOT allowed to accompany employee to the remote worksite


  • Must be able to travel to and between remote location(s) in austere or inhospitable high stress environments, and work with minimal direct supervision
