Registered Nurse Interventional Radiology (RN)- Part-Time Days Performs and demonstrates proficiency in providing quality patient care during the peri-procedure stay including assessment of safety, comfort, physiological and psychological needs. Works closely with Radiologists, technologist staff, ancillary departments and physicians as care is planned and coordinated. Work is primarily performed at ORMC within the Medical Imaging Department. Service is provided in all imaging modalities. Occasional travel may also be required in order to attend educational meetings /lectures for the betterment of the employee.

*PT Shifts Flexibility Monday-Friday * * Complete nursing assessments on individual patients by observation and interaction with patient/significant others to identify physical and psychosocial.

  • Does complete and accurate patient admission assessment within the guidelines by the Patient Care Policy on Physical Assessments.

  • Completes prescribed nursing interventions and procedures within state practice guidelines.

  • Evaluates and documents each patient's response to medications, interventions, and procedures. Assists in formulation, coordination, and implementation of the patient's Plan of Care based on the assessment of their individual needs.

  • Safely and accurately administers medication and IV solutions by utilizing e-MAR scanning. Acts in accordance with their professional licensure and hospital policy. Maintains patient safety during all aspects of nursing intervention and documents safety measures in patient's medical record.

  • Responds appropriately to all emergencies, and follows standard precautions for all patients.

Current Utah RN license in good standing (Compact RN - When a nurse changes primary state of residence by moving from one compact state to another, the nurse can practice in the new state on the former license for up to 90 days. The 90 days starts when the nurse becomes a resident in the new state). Current certification as a BLS and ACLS Healthcare Provider. Yearly hospital mandatories. Certification in Radiological Nursing encouraged. BSN preferred. Critical are or ED or ICU RN experience preferred. Must have excellent communication, people skills, and ability to have empathy. Excellent interpersonal skills are necessary as the incumbent interacts frequently with the department staff members, department managers, medical staff, other hospital personnel, other health-related professionals and the public. Must have maturity, sensitivity and the ability to take direction in stressful situations while remaining calm. Extreme accuracy, meticulous attention to details and proficiency in performing procedures and making judgments are vital as errors in job performance may have significant impact on patient care. Must have a willingness to learn and critical thinking skills. Must be flexible and self-motivated. Must possess high degree of professionalism in demeanor
