Builds and maintains a network and up-to-date specific industry or product knowledge. Responsible for transitioning deal knowledge to implementation team. Coordinates a pursuit team of subject matter experts. Leads the domain specific solution design aspects of engagement(s) ensuring high quality and integrated business solutions. Knowledgeable of competition and external factors that may influence Oracles competitive position. Resolves highly complex customer issues by recommending solutions. 10 years of experience relevant to this position including 5 years of consulting experience. Prior team lead or manager experience. Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience. Broad product, technology or industry expertise. Ability to craft and articulate strategic solutions. In-depth knowledge of implementation methodologies and best practices. Knowledge of competitive and partner products, technology and solutions. Proficient in using selling and negotiation techniques and tools. Ability to travel as needed.

The Oracle Cloud Solution Architect for Platform as a Service (PaaS) is an Oracle Public Cloud (OPC) subject matter expert (SME) and technical and business architect, overlaying with consulting sales to drive successful implementation of extensions, integrations using Oracle IaaS on Oracle Public Cloud.
Qualified candidate will be responsible to perform the following activities:
Leverage deep technical experience to help clients achieve value through defining and implementing Cloud migration strategies leveraging Oracle technologies for mid to large sized and global organizations.
Develop and enhance methodologies that leverage leading practices to architect and deliver secure, highly available, and performant solutions and lead Cloud Strategy, Cloud Migration, Application Consolidation, and Database Consolidation engagements.
Architect Oracle Cloud-based IaaS solutions to enable Cloud and Hybrid cloud solutions with consideration for performance, high availability, disaster recovery, and geographically disperse networks
Plan and lead cloud suitability assessments of applications and databases across the IT landscape for large enterprises
Operate independently to provide quality work products; perform varied and complex duties and tasks that need independent judgment, in order to implement Oracle Application products and technology to meet customer needs; apply Oracle methodology, company procedures, and leading practices; demonstrate expertise to deliver technical solutions on complex customer engagements.
Lead the solution design and implementation aspects of engagement(s) ensuring high quality, integrated software solutions within constraints of time and budget; act as the domain expert on projects, providing coaching, mentoring, guidance and feedback to develop skills of team members; effectively consult with management of customer organizations; participate in business development activities; develop and leads detailed solutions for moderately complex projects
Qualified candidate must have strong experience with:
Architecting complex IT solutions including virtualization, Oracle software and hardware platforms and 3rd party hosting and managed services
Cloud solutions (IaaS/ PaaS/ SaaS) Strategy and Implementation for mid or large size organizations, including private and public clouds
A deep understanding of IaaS components such as compute, storage, network, governance, database, and load balancing
Relevant experience to enable application suitability assessments including detailed cloud architecture design for global scale and high availability
Designing, implementing, or operating IT systems on leading commercial Cloud platforms
Large and complex IT systems in an enterprise environment using virtualization or private Cloud technologies, including OVM, VMware, Xen, OpenStack, Hyper-V and Ravello.
Modern development and testing techniques such as continuous delivery and continuous integration
Knowledge of Enterprise Architecture principles and methodologies, including data center migration
Understanding cost reduction methods related to servers, infrastructure, and platform sizing
General knowledge of storage: Network Storage Capacity Planning, Storage Area Network (SAN) Planning, Architecture and Design
Additional Preferred Experience:
Experience with Oracle database management including installation, patching, upgrade, implementation of backup and recovery, sizing, tuning, RAC, storage
Experience with Oracle hardware platforms including Engineered Systems and Cloud Machines
Knowledge of software development and experience in configuration management
An advanced degree in the area of specialization is preferred
Experience with Java application architecture and development
Technology understanding of API management solutions and their role across enabling an enterprise cloud
Infrastructure automation using DevOps scripting
