Oracle PMO Manager | Oracle Utilities in Ogden, Utah

This manager-level position is responsible for a segment within a given project portfolio which can be defined by industry, service line, technology center, specialty area or region. Main responsibilities include people management, project oversight, and sales enablement. Accountable for operational/financial metrics and maintaining project/portfolio profitability while ensuring quality of project delivery and maintaining customer referenceability.

Responsible for adherence to operational policies and achievement of portfolio performance to support business plan. Responsible for solution and pricing of proposals and supporting the sales process. Is accountable for managing a profitable revenue stream. Typically manages a relatively small number of individual contributing project managers. Provides oversight to projects within portfolio to ensure high customer satisfaction in a profitable manner.

8 years of experience relevant to this position, including 2 years of project or direct line management experience. Demonstrated ability to follow solid project management principles and successfully manage projects of increasing complexity. Comfortable working in a matrix management environment. Strong influencing and negotiation skills to deal with internal stakeholders, customers, and vendors. Product, technology or industry expertise relevant to the portfolio focus. Selling skills preferred. Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience. Ability to travel as needed.

*PMO Manager Role: *

The Consulting PMO Director for Oracle Utilities is responsible for managing the business operations and resources for an Oracle Utilities Consulting PMO within our North America Practice.

Responsibilities include people management, project oversight, and sales enablement. Accountable for fulfilling business goals, meeting budgets, maintaining project/portfolio profitability while ensuring quality of project delivery and maintaining customer reference ability. Develops strategy and plans to successfully implement operational policies and achieve PMO performance in support of strategic objectives. Ability to travel as required.

Our Consulting | Professional Services Product Implementation team has an opening for a fully competent PMO management professional who has a broad understanding of solutions and industry best practices in the utilities industry. This PMO Staff position provides consistent creative and high quality solution leadership. Employs independent judgment in guiding moderately complex activities involved in the successful implementation of an integrated business solution, ensuring project quality and timely delivery within budget to the customer’s satisfaction. Analyzes business needs to help ensure Oracle’s solution meets the customer’s objectives by combining industry best practices and product knowledge. Effectively applies Oracle’s methodologies, policies, and procedures while adhering to contractual obligations, thereby minimizing Oracle’s risk and exposure.

As a project leader, assist project teams with aspects of their roles. Effectively influences decisions at the management level of customer organizations. Ensures deliverables are acceptable and works closely with the customer to understand and manage project expectations. Collaborates with the consulting sales team by providing domain credibility. Ability to travel as required up to 75%.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 6-10 years of experience relevant to this position including 5 years of full software project management experience

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience

  • Experience managing Oracle Utilities CC&B, MDM or C2M system implementations highly desired.

  • Utilities industry experience as an employee or consultant

  • A strong background in Project Management, including experience developing work-breakdown structures and project plans, most notably in Microsoft Project.

  • Excellent client management skills and the ability to work with customers to develop and manage an implementation plan.

  • Demonstrated experience in translating customer business requirements into workable world class software solution.

  • Exceptional escalation management skills.

  • Experience developing cost estimates for Professional Services efforts, as well as presenting value propositions

  • Must have managed Project Budgets in excess of $5 Million Dollars

  • Agile Methodology experience

  • Experience creating and presenting SOW for new and existing customers

  • Excellent customer relationship acumen, including comfort interacting at the “C” level

  • Experience successfully delivering presentations via web conferencing

  • Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation and negotiation skills

  • Consulting and project management experience in a SaaS environment is a plus

  • PMP or other Project Management certifications is a plus

  • Six Sigma certification is a plus
