What You’ll Get to Do:

  • Lead a team of Oracle and SQL Server DBAs.

  • Establish and maintain security and integrity controls.

  • Formulate and monitor policies, procedures and standards relating to database management.

  • Propose and implement enhancements that will improve the performance and reliability of the systems.

  • Define optimal physical data models that address customer requirements and balance performance (e.g., indexes, views, snapshots) and storage (e.g., normalization, de-normalization).

  • Incorporate security, back-up, and disaster recovery into database design.

  • Establish database parameters that maximize database performance.

  • Install, configure, and patch database management systems (DBMS).

  • Write database documentation, including data standards, procedures and definitions for the data dictionary (metadata).

  • Control access permissions and privileges. Ensures that storage and archiving procedures are functioning correctly.

  • Communicate regularly with technical, applications and operational staff to ensure database integrity and security.

  • Provide Tier III support for the application technology stack.

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • Must be experienced in Windows System Administration, Oracle and SQL Server

  • Must have a strong working knowledge of database architecture including but not limited to performance tuning, security, stored procedures, imports/exports, backup/restore, and database normalization.

  • Must possess a working knowledge of Windows System Administration with the ability to lead a team of Windows System Administrators as well as Database Administrators

  • Define and implement database standards.

  • Requires practical knowledge in leading and managing the execution of processes, projects and tactics associated .with Database and System Administration.

  • Typically has advanced knowledge and skills with the ability to train others in the organization.

  • Typically has a University Degree (BA/BS) or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years related work experience.

  • Always willing to learn something new.

  • Team player.

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • Knowledge of IIS, SCOM, SCCM and Splunk is preferred.
