This position has responsibility for overall continuous improvement and manufacturing programs including continuous improvement teams, root cause analysis and CAPA (Corrective and Preventative Action) investigations in a fast-paced regulatory environment. Manages operational “Good to Great” cost savings program and CER capital projects.
Responsible at all times for promoting a safety culture and safety awareness within their area of responsibility. Support and enforce all plant safety policies and procedures in a fair and consistent manner.
Create and execute the Continuous Improvement Site Strategic Plan.
Support the Quality Department by leading the operational root cause analysis and Corrective and Preventative Action (CAPA) projects.
Review process value stream mapping and recommend staffing levels, materials, machines, methods and performance metrics (measurements) to ensure an effective operation.
Utilize problem solving capabilities to build an CI culture such as Root Cause Analysis, Kaizen, SMED and Six Sigma skills.
Develop CI methodology, perform training, coaching and assessment, in collaboration other functions.
Identify and champion opportunities for continuous improvement initiatives, OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) improvements, etc.
Incorporate principles of lean manufacturing such as 5S, key TPS (Toyota Production System), TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) elements, etc.
Manage the operations “Good to Great” cost savings programs, meetings and action lists.
Fairly and consistently adhere to all Company and Plant procedures, work rules and guidelines.
Work with Operations to build training content and organize training sessions as needed.
Communicate methods, changes, scheduling, etc. as appropriate and required cross-functionally throughout the organization.
Manage all related technical systems, technologies, machines, and equipment as required.
Implement and track operational key performance indicators (KPI) such as safety, downtime, production throughput, batch and solid waste with defined reason codes. Generate reports and trend graphs.
May be required to support the operation outside of assigned shift hours or on weekends as needed.
Ensures all quality and food safety practices are followed at all times.
Performs other related duties as required and assigned.

Ability to prioritize work assignments in a fast-paced work environment, calm under pressure and flexibility to direct work force and adapt to changing schedules as appropriate.
Strong leadership abilities and skills as a team builder, coach and mentor.
Strong computer skills.
Strong knowledge of production operation, including equipment, materials, work flow, etc.
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field of study required.
Lean Six Sigma Black Belt preferred.
3-5 years prior experience in continuous improvement initiatives required.
3-5 years previous supervisory/managerial experience in a fast-paced, regulatory manufacturing environment such as dietary supplements, CPG (Consumer Packaged Goods), food or pharmaceuticals required.
