Job Summary

  • Under general supervision, performs routine duties.

  • Displays knowledge and abilities to evaluate, select and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures and criteria to meet basic engineering and construction specifications.

  • Displays applications of sound professional judgment on details of work.

  • Independently performs walk-downs and inspections of installed commodities to assure conformance with specifications and design.

  • Performs quantity surveys for tracking and reporting.

  • May provide technical direction to drafters, technicians, and surveyors.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an ABET accredited college or university in Civil or Environmental Engineering with an emphasis in water resources engineering

  • 5+ years' experience in water resources engineering with heavy civil design / modeling

  • Registered Professional Engineer in CA

  • Experienced in preparing Construction documents (construction plans and specifications)

  • Experience preparing feasibility studies and engineering reports

  • Experience working with multi-disciplinary project delivery teams

  • Experienced in preparing proposals and presentations

  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, and Powerpoint

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree from an ABET accredited college or university in Civil or Environmental Engineering with an emphasis in water resources engineering

  • 10+ years' experience in water resources engineering with heavy civil design / modeling

  • California Registered Professional Engineer

  • Strong proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D

  • Proficiency with Microstation

  • Experience with hydrology/hydraulics modeling (HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, FLO-2D, WSPG)

  • Experience with dam inundation modeling/mapping
