Currently, we are seeking an HSE Supervisor to support onsite safety programs in the South Region.

  • Position can be located in Jacksonville, FL or Orlando, FL.


  • Facilitates the overall HSE program for the site or facility.

  • Anticipates, identifies and evaluates hazardous conditions and practices.

  • Develops complex hazard control designs, methods, procedures and programs.

  • Implements, administers and advises others on hazard control programs.

  • Identifies employee training needs; trains line employees on safety procedures and practices.

  • Ensureadherence to all ISO 14001 and OSHAS 18001 policies and procedures


  • Fundamentals Of Health And Safety - Comprehensive knowledge of occupational health & safety. Detailed understanding of general industry standards and the requirements of the more frequently referenced standards. Includes knowledge of basic health and safety concepts such as hazard and risk assessment, personal protective equipment, behavior based safety, machine/ equipment safety, confined space entry, etc.

  • Health & Safety Professional Knowledge (Including Regulatory Compliance) - Health & Safety Professional Knowledge relates to having comprehensive knowledge of occupational safety and health compliance. Regulatory compliance deals with the regulatory requirements imposed on industry by local, state, provincial, national, and international organizations. Detailed understanding of how the provisions of the regulations, as applicable may be implemented in the workplace, rights and responsibilities under the various acts/ regulations/ rules, the appeals process, record keeping (OSHA), and Voluntary Protection Programs (OSHA). Understanding of general industry standards and the requirements of the more frequently referenced standards.

  • Occupational Health & Safety Management System - An Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) management system provides a framework for managing OHS responsibilities so they become more efficient and more integrated into overall business operations. OHS management systems are based on standards that specify a process of achieving continuously improved OHS performance and compliance with legislation.

  • Risk Management - This skill involves health & safety management principles and system safety engineering techniques. This includes the elements of risk identification and management and an understanding of the function of hazard analysis in system requirements definition, preliminary and detailed design, test, operations, and maintenance activities. This skill includes an understanding of the function and application of hazard analysis tools and techniques in the correct system and engineering environment. This may include the application of hazard analysis tools.

  • Health & Safety Auditing - Health & Safety auditing is the process of evaluating conformance/compliance with established regulatory, OHSAS 18001, and internal requirements. The effectiveness of an internal audit program is almost entirely dependent upon the skills, training, and experience of the Audit Team Leader and Audit Team members. Auditors should be functionally aware of all areas of environmental management and possess an expert level understanding of the criteria to which they are auditing. Where applicable, the audit program should be structured in a manner that will facilitate the integration of health, safety and environmental management system audits.

  • Incident Investigation - The method of reporting the occurrence of an occupational injury/illness, near hit, or property damage. Incident investigations determine how and why these failures occur. Employees should be able to perform a thorough, effective incident investigation including root cause analysis, 5-why analysis and development of effective corrective actions.

  • Communication - Written And Verbal - Effectively expresses messages and ideas in a clear, organized and relevant manner for a variety of audiences. Develops organized, complete, and convincing communications. Conveys thoughts and ideas regarding a topic concisely and clearly. Ability to communicate without increasing either the employee's or employer liability. Ability to communicate effectively to different levels of the organization. Communicates information at a level appropriate for the intended audience. Effectively presents messages to individuals and/or small and large groups. Ability to communicate appropriately for various time zones, differing cultures, and differing languages. Uses appropriate style, grammar, and tone in informal and/or formal business messages. Reviews and edits written work constructively. Uses visual aids that are effective and appropriate for communication medium. Delivers messages with the desired effect. Prepares necessary support materials for meetings which may include agendas and/or pre-read documents. Uses appropriate tone and body language to deliver messages. Separates personal biases from fact. Expresses messages in a positive manner, focusing on strengths rather than weaknesses. Ability to use appropriate communication tools as needed (Skype video conferencing, teleconferencing, Visio, MS Office, etc.).

Searches to effectively understand reasons for core conflict and use this to explore alternative solutions. Views conflict as an opportunity to explore alternative perspectives. Brings conflict and disagreement into the open and attempts to offer a fair resolution collaboratively while maintaining a constructive working relationship. Takes appropriate action to acknowledge and stop emotional or negative behavior. Helps others understand the consequences of not resolving conflicts effectively.


Education & Experience:

  • College, university, or equivalent degree required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.

  • Intermediate level of relevant work experience, including team leadership experience, required
