IBM Deal Strategist in OTTAWA, Ontario
As a member of IBM’s Strategic Deal Squads, the Deal Strategist will lead and facilitate engagement teams in the preparation of high quality, client-focused, compelling proposals, presentations, and other solution deliverables. Based in Ottawa , this position will work closely with our Federal Government sales team. The Deal Strategist will be responsible for RFx analysis, handling the end-to-end proposal processes, and providing direction and assistance to deal contributors and Strategic Deal Squad members. The Deal Strategist will lead and facilitate design sessions focused on the creation of critical messaging and the development of winning proposal strategies. The ability to meet deadlines, a dedication to teamwork, and detailed follow-through will be the key to success in this role.
Analyze pre-sales request and/or RFx requirements and develop compliance matrix, proposal schedule, proposal outline, and kickoff materials
Lead proposal kick-off, ongoing stand-up meetings, and deal team reviews; lead athe team to strict deadlines, developing achievements and targets for completion
Facilitate design sessions, to develop client-focused win strategy
Provide editorial/writing assistance. Drive integration of win strategy and win themes throughout proposal deliverables; Support proposal content key messaging working closely with the writer and designer through the end to end process
Lead the communications with the opportunity owner. Monitor and communicate client solicitation developments, keeping all STS and IBM functional contributors updated, revising proposal outline and schedule. as appropriate.
Work with aligned functions, such as legal, procurement, and risk management
Provide operational leadership for proposal development and supports deal teams to meet client deadlines and internal approval requirements such as industry quality and executive reviews
Review proposal documents for compliance with client requirements and specifications
Facilitate through presentation/orals ensuring focus on differentiation and client value
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
Years of Experience: 3-5 years of proposal management experience.
Proven experience in leading proposal teams in the end-to-end pursuit process and delivering compelling proposals
Validated organizational skills and time-management capabilities
Strong written and verbal communications skills. You will be equally adept at leading a team of writers, designers, and other contributors responding to a complete proposal
Comfortable working and interacting with all levels of the business
Comfortable working in an environment of rapidly changing priorities and deadlines
Preferred Tech and Prof Experience
Project Management experience
Experience in team leadership
Presentation mentoring skills would be considered an asset
French language would be considered an asset
