Position Summary The Loss Control Consultant acts as a part of the overall Client Management Team by indentifying and evaluating client exposures and potential risks, developing recommendations to achieve mutually agreed upon targeted outcomes such as controlling costs related to excessive and/or unnecessary claims, and advocating for clients with carrier loss control representatives. Responsibilities Travels to sites to identify and evaluate the safety culture, physical conditions and practices of prospective and current clients; reports findings to the Producer and the Client Management Team. Develop recommendations regarding loss control and assists client in implementation and monitoring. Reports progress on loss control plans to the Client Management Team and client. Provides MyWave loss control information to clients on safety and customized OSHA compliant programs. Works with the appropriate client personnel to plan and direct safety committee meetings to activate and promote a positive safety culture. Develops, implements, and monitors loss control service plans for compliance with OSHA standards. Prepares written reports and claims analysis for Producers, Client Management Team and clients as needed. Maintains a positive contribution to customer satisfaction and constantly strives to improve service to clients. Participates as needed in the presentation of insurance proposals to clients. Designs, authors, and/or creates written materials that support Agency loss control efforts including written safety & health programs, return to work programs, supervisory training, disaster recovery plans, drug testing plans, safety training and loss analysis/loss source identification Maintains knowledge of current developments of federal and state safety laws and industry practices through general business periodicals, professional journals, procedure manuals and complex regulatory materials. Advises and consults with clients on DOT audit/advanced driver performance, ergonomics, OSHA compliance, safety audits, and OSHA compliance. Coordinates insurance company activities with our clients, acting as a liaison between our client and the company loss control representatives. Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Safety Engineering or similar program, or equivalent combination of education and experience, with at least 5 years of risk management experience. 5-10 years’ industry experience preferred. CSP and/or CIH designation preferred Driver’s License and proper insurance required Proficient with computer technology and Microsoft Office Suite Excellent customer service and phone etiquette Ability to work well in a team environment Excellent oral and written communication skills Excellent time management and organizational skills Strong project management and critical thinking skills Strong presentation skills Marsh & McLennan Agency (MMA) provides colleagues the freedom to make a career and difference.
