Respiratory Therapists at Overland Park Regional Medical Center (OPRMC) have many opportunities to utilize their training and skills! With a Level II Trauma Center and 26 bed ICU, they care for acutely ill adult patients. They also support an 8 bed Pediatric ICU, Pediatric ER and Respiratory Clinic. OPRMC RTs are an integral part of the 50 bed Level IIIB NICU, and the Midwest Neonatal Transport Team. Along with managing all Pulmonary patients, they assist with Bronchoscopy, obtain Blood Gasses, attend all Trauma activations, all Code Blues and Rapid responses. RT Leaders are trained to intubate adult patients.

Overland Park Regional Medical Center is one of the premiere medical facilities in Johnson County. The hospital is a licensed 343-bed facility offering acute and outpatient medical care services to the Overland Park community and the surrounding areas since December of 1978. Interested Respiratory Therapy applicants must have an Associate’s Degree, or certificate of completion from an AMA accredited Respiratory Therapy program. They must be registered with the National Board for Respiratory Care as an Advanced Level Respiratory Care Practitioner (RRT), must have current BLS affirmation from the American Heart Association, and PALS certification within 6 months of hire. Candidates must be licensed in the state of Kansas.

To be strongly considered for a position, applicants should have at least one (1) year of recent experience in an acute level facility, and NICU experience. They should have above average interpersonal skills, and basic computer skills.

  • Associates Degree, graduate of an AMA accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
  • Must be registered with the National Board for Respiratory Care as an Advanced Respiratory Care Practitioner; must be licensed within the State; have current CPR affirmation; must maintain certain clinical competencies required by JCAHO or the Department, appropriate to the level of service provided; above average interpersonal skills; basic computer skills.
  • One year of recent clinical experience
