Putnam Community Medical Center offers a 10-bed Intensive/Critical Care Unit, Step-Down Care Unit, Cardiac Cath Lab, medical and surgical units, family birthplace center, and a 24-hour emergency department. We also provide inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation services.
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent preferred. Completed a formal Monitor Technician program either at a vocational school or hospital based program. Successful completion of didactic and clinical based EKG examinations. Score of 90% or better on EKG Computer Based Instruction or other testing parameter as designated by the department Nurse Manager. Additional training in Cardiac Rhythm interpretations and the ability to recognize and report abnormal Cardiac Rhythms
Experience: Secretarial experience in a hospital setting is preferred

Must have excellent organizational skills, oral and written skills, the ability to work independently and make decisions and take initiative when needed. Needs strong clerical and computer skills. Must possess the ability to follow directions and work well under stress and juggle priorities. Must be able to handle delicate matters with discretion and to communicate with all levels of employees, physicians, patients and families. General knowledge of Nursing Unit operation, excellent interpersonal skills, must be self motivated, ability to set priorities, performs well in stress and emergency situations, ensures accuracy & completeness of work performed, follows established procedures performing job functions, demonstrates a thorough knowledge of Unit Coordinator work practices, follows through with assignments and informs Director if unable to complete task, adheres to established hospital and department guidelines & protocols, supports hospital mission, vision and values. The Monitor Technician requires knowledge of Medical Terminology and familiarity with medical technology as it relates to nursing. The ability to retrieve data from the hospital's information system is required along with the communicate information in a written and auditory fashion
