Kaiser Permanente Administrative Nurse Practitioner Retail Clinics in Pasadena, California

Under the general supervision of the Chief of Service for clinical issues and the Director of Ambulatory Clinical Services for administrative issues, plans, develops, implements, evaluates and supervises the Nurse Practitioners and other staff. Develops and implements programs of quality assurance, peer review and continuing education. Participates in short and long range planning for improving delivery and accessibility of service in the department. Provides direct nurse practitioner care and services to members. Essential Responsibilities:

Coordinates central planning, development, implementation and evaluation of nurse practitioner (NP) and other staff services with appropriate input from the Chief of Service and Department Administrator.

These include NP and departmental goal setting, nurse practitioner projects, literature, supplies, continuing education, peer review, productivity, quality of care and service.

Responsible for the coordination of the development, implementation, evaluation and revision of departmental policies, clinical practice agreements and quality assurance programs.

Ensures NP compliance with all licensure and certification requirements.

Oversees orientation and training for NPs and all staff.

Plans, coordinates and schedules the office hours and time off for NPs and staff.

Participates in the interviewing and selection process for all NP candidates and staff.

Responsible for the completion of performance assessments of current staff.

Performs other administrative responsibilities such as collection and compilation of NP statistics, budget development and monitoring.

An Administrative Nurse Practitioner also provides direct nurse practitioner care and services to members and customers and meets all of the qualifications of the Nurse Practitioner job description 50119.

Basic Qualifications:


Minimum three (3) years of full-time recent experience as a Family Nurse Practitioner required.


Graduate of an accredited RN Program.

Graduate of an accredited FNP Program.

High School Diploma or General Development Education (GED).

Master's Degree in Nursing required.

License, Certification, Registration

Current RN license required; California RN license required by date of hire.

Current California Nurse Practitioner certificate.

Current DEA Registration Number.

Current California Furnishing Number.

Current BCLS card.

National Provider Number (NPI).

Additional Requirements:

Must be able to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Leadership and supervisory experience preferred.

National Certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner preferred.


This position will provide oversight to Retail Clinics located throughout San Diego and Riverside Counties.
