We are looking for an experienced and self-motivated individual to fill the position of Lab Analyst with our Manufacturing Facility located in Pasadena, Texas.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Laboratory supports two PVC Plants in Houston Operations.

  • Promote and support a safe, healthy, and environmentally responsible work environment. Follow all safety rules and policies.

  • Support the Process Safety and Risk Management goals and objectives. Participate in site-wide Process Safety and Risk Reduction activities as requested. Look for opportunities to be the ‘fresh set of eyes’ in this area.

  • Strive to continuously improve the quality process.

  • Assist in training as required.

  • Practice good housekeeping.

  • Perform routine analyses, including control samples and calibration checks, without supervision. Be thoroughly familiar with and able to operate instrumentation; such as: analytical balances, spectrometers, viscometers, gas chromatographs, roll mill and extrusion testing, particle size distribution, and Brabenders.

  • Perform unscheduled analyses with written procedures from ASTM, EPA, NIOSH, etc.

  • Record results legibly or make computer entry accurately for use by Lab and plant personnel. Critical or off-spec results are reported to Operations immediately. All work sheets and applicable control charts must be properly maintained.

  • Coordinate activities closely with production, loading and utility personnel. Special samples must be analyzed in a timely manner.


  • Four year degree in a related science (chemistry, biology, physics, computer science, zoology); or successfully completed a laboratory technician training program at a community college or technical school (equal to a two year Associates degree); or five year minimum of equivalent work experience in a chemical manufacturing environment.

  • High proficiency in Microsoft applications (such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook); and a good working knowledge of SAP.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to read, write and speak in English.

  • Must be able to respond to off hour emergencies.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to work as part of a team.

  • Ability to work weekends, holidays and respond to callouts on a non-routine basis.

  • Physical requirements - Must be able to lift 40 lbs., climb ladders and stairs. Walking, bending, stooping is required. Must be able to wear personal protective equipment including the use of a respirator. Must be able to respond to visual and audible alarms.
