Job Summary : This position shows sound knowledge and proficiency in the use of all CT equipment, including scanners, QC stations, and 3D workstation, to demonstrate patient disorders. Oversees the day-to-day operation of the CT Departments, including, but not limited to: staffing assignments, approving PTO, call/holiday schedules, the ordering/inventory of supplies, and is responsible for patient and employee safety. Also responsible for Kronos, ensuring accuracy of daily billing functions, and daily monitoring of MH/STAT thru PLUS. This position requires initiative, and independent judgment for supervision of technologists. This position supervises, evaluates, and disciplines subordinate personnel, and coordinates equipment repairs/maintenance within the CT department. Coordinates/communicates patient flow/issues with physicians, offices, and other departments. Under the direction of the Director of Diagnostic Imaging Services, and the Chairman of Diagnostic Imaging, performs administrative and consultative duties within the CT Department. Responsible for collecting and processing information used for Quality Improvement Processes, and recommends action necessary for improvements. Establishes, and maintains a good rapport and professional relationship with fellow employees, other departments, and Medical Staff. Performs in the capacity of Staff Technologist when necessary. Follows policies and procedures of West Florida Hospital. Participates in the Quality Improvement process and adheres to WFH standards of behavior.
Essential Functions : Manages stress appropriately and can make decisions under pressure, manage anger/fear/hostility/violence of others appropriately, handle multiple priorities and able to work alone. Medium work with periods of standing, lifting, stooping, bending, pulling with force, reaching above head and shoulders, twisting at waist. Must be able to distinguish colors, hear alarms/telephone/tape recorder in normal speaking voice. Good manual dexterity and clarity of vision. Exposure to x-ray. Occasionally may push/pull/lift or carry up to 50 lbs. Occasionally may lift 50 lbs from floor and waist level up.
Attendance is essential to this role.
Education : Graduation from ARRT Accredited Program and current ARRT registration and CT registries are required; Florida Certification is required. Associate’s Degree in healthcare related field is preferred .
Experience : A minimum of three (3) to five (5) years experienced as a registered technologist is required. Supervisory experience is preferred.
Skills/Abilities :Organizational, critical thinking, communication, and multi-tasking skills in a detail-oriented, customer-focused organization are required. Mathematical, analytical, reading and comprehension skills are required. Basic computer skills are required. Ability to follow verbal instructions is required.
