  • Key Accountabilities:*

  • Responsible for the administration and control of all activities of the maintenance staff associated with the water treatment plants, associated booster pumping stations, surge facilities and reservoirs.

  • Updating Facility Manager of continuing abnormal conditions, breakdowns, malfunctions or similar problems that may become evident from time to time.

  • Managing, directing and supervising mechanical and electrical/instrumentation staff in the performance of their duties.

  • Assisting in the preparation of current maintenance budgets and provides information for capital budgeting purpose

  • Coordinating and administering the annual maintenance budget assigned to the facilities to ensure effective and reliable equipment operations.

  • Maintaining the preventative maintenance program ensuring that both routine and non-routine tasks are appropriately scheduled, assigned, monitored and closed out in a timely fashion.

  • Monitoring and reviewing work-flow and evaluating work methods and procedures and updating as necessary.

  • Developing, establishing and reviewing objective performance measures and benchmarks.

  • Ensuring equipment maintenance records, logs, history reports, etc are maintained in accordance with established procedures. Preparing monthly, annual and ad hoc reports.

  • Monitoring process and equipment performance to initiate or enhance preventative maintenance programs.

  • Responsible for the application of all corporate, health & safety and engineering standards for the maintenance department.

  • Applying continuous improvement processes to all departmental activities and functions.

  • Participating in labor relations matters by attending interviews, meetings as required and in the selection and training of new and existing employees.

  • Processing employee appraisals and maintaining discipline by counseling maintenance staff, documenting incidents and ensuring ongoing compliance. Performing all other duties as assigned.

  • Knowledge/Skills:*

  • Must have a valid driver license.

  • Must have working knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications, specifically Microsoft Word, and Excel.

  • Must be self-motivated and capable of working both independently and as a part of a team, must excel at planning, organizing and implementing projects.

  • Must have knowledge in project management and administration and experience in predictive/preventative maintenance programs.

  • Education/Experience:*

  • Ten years of increasingly responsible experience in the municipal water treatment industry. Preference will be given to candidates with proven management experience and the demonstrated ability to provide leadership in a changing environment.

  • This position requires a minimum of a high school diploma or GED.

  • Certifications & Licenses:*

  • Grade One ADEQ license for Water Treatment Operator or reciprocity is desired.
