Job Title:

Turnaround Cost Engineer

No. of Positions:

1

Job Description:

We need a talented Turnaround Cost engineer to join a dynamic cost engineering team at one of Europe’s largest petro-chemical sites. With positive support from a global employer, it’s the perfect opportunity to develop your professional and leadership skills.

Where you fit in

You’ll be based at our downstream manufacturing site at Pernis, Rotterdam – a joint oil refinery and chemicals manufacturing site that produces a broad range of everyday products. As Turnaround (TA) Cost Engineer, you’ll be a key part of the TA & Projects Services department, working within a small team that’s responsible for cost estimation, cost control and benchmarking of all turnarounds (plant shut-downs).

Turnarounds are important events at Shell, and your expertise will be rewarded with a positive environment to develop your career and leadership skills, in a complex and diverse organisation.

What’s the role?

As TA Cost Engineer, we’ll be looking to you to ensure turnarounds are supported with credible cost estimates, predictable forecasts and competitiveness verified through benchmarking. In practice that means you’ll be reporting on cost progress, measuring and implementing cost control processes, and developing methods to measure cost performance. Other responsibilities include:

  • Developing, implementing and maintaining cost management and estimating tools and processes, compliant with the global Asset Management System framework.

  • Providing detailed cost performance analysis to the TA management team on a recurring basis.

  • Coordination, verification and screening of cost estimates of (multiple) turnaround events/ units both at Pernis as well as peer reviews at other Shell manufacturing sites.

Your natural people skills will set you apart. You’ll be as comfortable communicating with TA management, external contractors, as you are advising and guiding colleagues with technical support.
