Job Description:

The Prelude FLNG facility is stationed approximately 450 km North of North East of Broome, Western Australia, in Australian Commonwealth Ocean waters of 250 meters depth. It is one of the first of its kind, comprising of sub-sea wells tied back to a Floating Liquefied Natural Gas (FLNG) facility, which encompasses gas processing and liquefied through to LNG/LPG/Condensate storage and offloading, with the requisite supporting marine and utilities facilities. It is Shell Development Australia’s first operating asset.

What is the role?

Shell’s Prelude FLNG is an operating asset on its journey to stable operations. We are adding capacity into the business to help us achieve this and ensure our focus remains on a facility that is safe, robust, reliable and with high availability to enable continuous, stable LNG production.

We are looking for a Marine Contract Holder based in Perth with occasional offshore travel to support the Prelude FLNG asset.

This role plays a vital role in being the conduit between Shell as a company and Prelude as a project in supporting the local businesses by executing the marine local logistics strategies in order to achieve a seamless integrated process with end to end local supply chain.

With the guidance of Head of Marine, you will manage the logistics services activities for the Upstream production assets as well as supporting exploration, project and LNG activities. Using your commercial knowledge, you will ensure any necessary financial security is in place as you manage independent contractors and support local businesses.

On a day to day basis, your role will be engaging with various stakeholders across Shell to execute fit for purpose standardised marine logistics processes, data, systems and technology. Additionally, you will manage the operations of marine logistics contract to ensure the agenda contributes to the key objective of ensuring safe maximum returns are made for the asset whilst factoring in local content element where required.

Importantly you will adhere to and promote safety and environmental procedures to ensure safety of self, personnel, contractors and environment in addition to delivering marine logistics annual plan to ensure a robust safety culture exists within all logistics operations.

Crucial to the success of this role is the ability to work collaboratively and lead effectively across multi-functional teams and interface with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, based in various locations, and being able to work autonomously.

Your ability to adapt and deliver in dynamic work environment where priorities often changes are critical.

What we need from you:

To be considered for this role you will have:

  • An excellent safety record

  • Previous experience in logistics, transportation, integrated supply chain management or engineering

  • Tertiary qualification or relevant accreditation and certification of contract holder training is desirable but not essential

  • Direct exposure in contract management

  • Previous experience in maritime logistics

  • Ability to manage and interact effectively on operational and technical marine matters

  • Passion for relentless continuous improvement

  • Ability to challenge the status quo while driving maritime agenda and good business outcomes
