If you’re a Technical Capability Manager with experience in delivering and managing robust end-to-end people and technical capability management for various assets, then this role is a chance to develop your technical and leadership skills whilst working for an industry leader.
What’s the role?
As Technical Capability Manager, your role will cover all Production skill pools within Shell; working in close collaboration with Talent and Learning teams within the company. You will manage programmes (e.g. Oil and Gas Installation Management (OIM) development, Front Line Barrier Management (FLBM) etc.) and coaching within the asset. To do this, you will need to use your expertise in the field and fully integrate the capability development between onshore and offshore as a whole.
Some of the key deliverables and responsibilities for this role are as follows:
Support the cultivation of the right behaviours resulting in the embedment of the right culture that would underpin the transformation required to achieve ambitions for the asset.
Leverage on the Safety Leadership development to support the consistent achievement of the venture’s goal zero aspirations.
Assist the learning and organisational effectiveness & development agenda; collaborating with Talent and Learning & Development people.
Coordinate Technical discipline for Production skill-pools; this includes development & assurance, and subsequent career path management in consultation with venture leadership and skill pool focal points.
Work closely with relevant Operations Readiness & Assurance (ORA) Managers/Leads during the Opportunity Realisation Process (ORP) on capability management for the design, execution and start-up/handover of new projects.

What we need from you
A tertiary qualification (Bachelor or higher degree) in Engineering, or other technical related discipline; a post-graduate degree in Engineering or technical discipline will be seen favourably.
Proven experience and good track record in the oil and gas industry.
Track record in capability improvement and people development.
Experience in capability management.
Strong technical skills in operations or maintenance management.
Experience in LNG/Gas is an advantage.
The successful candidate must have extensive experience of managing and developing technical people in the oil and gas industry. Ideally, a seasoned operations/maintenance manager or Offshore Installation Manager (OIM). Equally as important, the candidate must have strong people/coaching orientation; one who enjoys working and co-operating on HR and Talent agenda as well as technical programmes.
