IBM Associate Partner, Data Platform Services (Financial Services) in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Your Role and Responsibilities

IBM Global Business Services (GBS) Associate Partner (AP) has deep expertise in the Data Platforms domain as well as strong experience in consultative selling across the Financial (Banking) Services Industry. The Associate Partner is accountable for the successful sales and delivery of data governance, data architecture including cloud-native databases, real-time data management and analytics, data privacy, and data migration related to core banking implementations and migrations. This position will have direct involvement leading and selling cutting edge, first-of-a-kind solutions that combine Data Platform capabilities with open source and proprietary cognitive solutions.

Responsibilities include:

  • Contribute to growth in IBM Global Business Services (GBS) new business signings, revenue, and profit from Financial Services companies using data platform and cognitive computing. Additionally, identify and advance new business opportunities to closure.

  • Collaborate with IBM Data and AI teams and market leading cloud-native data management platforms and cloud-based data warehouse solutions to help develop use case-specific assets and accelerators to drive combined data analytics and cognitive solution from the Financial Services marketplace.

  • Establish compelling points of view about how data, analytics and cognitive computing can be used to transform customer engagement and/or various aspects of business operations for a bank

  • Define data solutions that enable core industry capabilities, e.g. Customer management, Deposits, Credit, Issuance, Payments, Marketing, Risk… etc.

  • Build, grow, and steward client and business partner relationships. Assist in assuring client satisfaction and maintaining a strong client relationship through delivery excellence

  • Collaborate with the GBS Digital practices (e.g., iX, IOT, Mobile), IBM Data and AI Group, and market leading cloud data warehouse providers to help develop use case-specific assets and accelerators to enable combined analytics and cognitive solutions

  • Lead pre-sales activities, assessments, and the delivery of transformational solutions

  • Establish and maintain deal focused, trusted relationships with clients and partners to scope, solution, propose, close, and deliver data platform capabilities and projects

  • Hands-on development of deliverables utilizing emerging data governance and cloud data warehouse implementation methodologies. Assist in the growth and development of the Data Platform Solutions practice by providing leadership and direction, contributing to the growth of intellectual capital in the industry and supporting the development of other consultants through mentoring and/or coaching activities

  • Business case development, project and program management, proposal writing and business management

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • At least 5 years of experience negotiating and selling consulting services projects

  • At least 5 years of experience in data governance, data architecture, data privacy, cloud-native new database platforms, and data warehouse migration / implementation related to core banking operations

  • At least 8 years of experience in delivery of complex consulting services projects within the Financial Services Industry

  • At least 5 years of experience in business development and sales of consulting services to C-suite executives of $5-6M+ / year

  • At least 5 years of experience managing and leading teams

  • At least 3 years of experience in an engagement transforming customer experience or some back-office process leveraging data and analytics

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

  • MBA or Equivalent higher education

  • Experience managing 2-4 staff
