The Audio Video (AV) Engineer’s role is to support and maintain in-house and external-sourced audio-visual, live-streaming, and digital media assets. This includes operating, maintaining, distributing, installing, configuring, and upgrading various AV products while ensuring optimal performance. Perform diagnostics, troubleshooting, routine and preventive maintenance of audio, video, broadcast and other AV equipment in a timely and accurate fashion. Provide end-user training and assistance with AV where required. Work with production teams for internal/external events.
Supports enterprise AV technology by developing standards and acting as a key leader within the team by providing guidance and support in all audio conferencing, video communications, and all other related efforts. Works with engineering teams in networking, desktop, server platforms, and database to design, deploy, and support a distributed audio video infrastructure. Monitor, analyze, and solve problems with RF, video, audio, cameras, digital switchers, digital routers, digital video servers, character generators, automation, post-production, and non-linear editing systems. Author and manage and update accurate engineering documentation.
Provide comprehensive analysis ensuring audio video systems designs meet and/or exceed end user requirements. Attend infrastructure project meetings, provide status on implementation tasks and timelines. Coordinates planning, administration, and implementation of corporate wide audio video services. Support corporate presentations and provide consultation to business area management and staff at the highest level for all aspects of audio video software and hardware and conferencing services. Provides equipment setup and installation of end user equipment; educating, and orienting end users. Provides support and guidance to lower level AV engineers. Participates in technical walk-through reviews with appropriate team members and stakeholders as required.
Three to five years Audio Video Technologies, Conferencing / Collaboration Technologies experience.
One to three years knowledge of live streaming technology. Experience with QUMU, VBrick, or similar technologies a plus.
ITIL Foundations experience.
Knowledge of Polycom/QUMU video conference hardware and Infrastructure, including Codec’s, Network, Video Bridges, Gatekeepers, Gateways and Management systems.
Extensive hands-on technical knowledge of audio visual protocols, and QoS standards using RTP, RTSP. RTCP, H.264, H.323, G.711 Codec, G.729, etc.
Knowledge of deploying desktop, server, network, and database infrastructure related to support live/on-demand audio video.
Other Skills: Presentation skills with PowerPoint, ability to write comprehensive plan in Word, and proficient with MS Project.
Bachelor’s Degree preferred or equivalent work experience.
Able to be on-call during off-business hours and weekends.
Able to travel to AmeriHealth business sites to install hardware/software and/or remediate issue.
Sitting for extended periods of time.
Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate power tools, computer keyboard, mouse, and to handle other computer components.
Occasional inspection of cables in floors and ceilings.
Lifting and transporting of moderately heavy objects, such as portable coders, projectors, TVs, Video carts, etc.
