IBM HR Transition Manager in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
This role is an "on demand/on call" role.
The HR Transition manager is responsible for management and execution of the HR solution associated with Outsourcing contracts and/or Acquisitions and Divestitures agreements.
This is a client facing role and is a core member of the deal Transition team. This role is responsible for overall project management and direction for transition and integration activities, and depending on scope may oversee activities for one or more business units, countries, or geographies. If the size and/or complexity of a deal warrants an HR team, the lead HR Transition Manager will provide business leadership and strategic direction to other members of the overall HR Transition team.
Whether acting as a sole HR Transition Manager or as a lead, activities include driving the identification and on-boarding of employees to IBM and/or a vendor, or in the case of a divestiture, the placement of employees with a new company. Strong HR knowledge and experience is essential as the HR Transition Manager will need to apply knowledge of HR policies, staffing, benefits, learning, compensation, position classification and banding, understanding of Workday and Kenexa Brass Ring loading and downstream impact, etc. and the ability to work with global support teams. In addition, strong MS Office and communication/presentation skills are required for this role.
Specifically, responsibilities include; establishment of effective communication channels, the hiring process and pre-employment activities, the orientation and on-boarding activities, working with Resource Management to execute possible rebalancing activities in IBM or Client environment, which can involve both redeployment and/or restructuring. It would also involve the outplacement of excess employees resulting from divestitures and some outsourcing contracts. The specific activities involved would be ascertained by the offerings used in the HR solution. The Transition Manager is also responsible for building a deal specific project plan, collaborating with internal and external customers to achieve planned results, establishing and achieving the transition management and delivery metrics, and, where leading a team, developing and leading a high performance team. Where a team is required, the lead in this role is responsible for securing the necessary staff of HR Transition professionals, maintaining on-going communications with the team, monitoring their performance, providing the direction and counseling needed to achieve success, and ensuring the required skills development and knowledge transfer for the overall HR Transition team. Experience in GTS or GBS delivery and outsourcing would be beneficial in this role.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
At least 2 years experience in Applied Human Resource Management
At least 2 years experience in Prior Management or HR Partner Role
At least 2 years experience in Strong Project Management, Transformation, and Communication skills
Basic knowledge in MS Office (Word, Excel, and Powerpoint)
Readiness to travel 50% travel annually
Preferred Tech and Prof Experience
At least 4 years experience in Applied Human Resource Management
At least 4 years experience in Prior Management or HR Partner Role
At least 3 years experience in Strong Project Management, Transformation, and Communication skills
Basic knowledge in Multilingual Skills (ideally Spanish, French, Brazilian Portuguese)
Basic knowledge in IBM Connections Tool
Certified in Human Resources
