Data Analyst with sufficient technical depth to extract insight from data. Will utilize big data tools and methods to help ensure the data are ready to support Strategic Analytics and Data Science efforts. Has a direct impact on our data quality and understanding, and also contributes efforts that drive business results.

Role Description:

- Ownership, as a subject matter expert, of viewing data for Comcast and its viewing and digital partners

- Interpret viewing and digital data for Comcast data partners in clear, concise terms

- Lead the project to refine STB (Set-top Box) return path data sources and/or Digital clickstream data sources and resulting data sets with a strong focus on data quality, hardening and stability resulting in a world-class trustworthy data product

- Create quantitative analyses that convert data into defined KPIs for actionable insights by combining viewing and digital data experience with analytic prowess

- Excitement about leveraging large data sets to provide insight-driven decision-making support for strategic initiatives around viewing insights

- Define requirements for collection of additional enhancing data sets for a more complete and robust viewing data centralized repository

- Create and maintain knowledge artifacts such as data dictionaries, data lineage, educational and change management documentation

- Assemble, cleanse, and structure data for analysis and communication of the current state of our data

Functional Competencies:

- Viewing data and/or digital data and media metrics skill set with STB and/or web data management experience a strong plus

- Strong SQL (experience in Hive, R or Python a plus)

- Knowledge of DQ processes a plus

- Ability to grasp complex analytic principles and techniques with data logic mastery

- Familiarity with database environments and statistical concepts Big Data experience a plus

- Proficient with analytical and presentation tools such as Tableau and PowerPoint

- Strong speaking, writing and presentation skills

- The ability to multitask a must

Preferred Educational Level:

- BA/BS degree in statistics, mathematics, computer science, engineering, economics or finance


- 5-7 years working experience

- Experience in media with an emphasis on viewing related fields preferred

- Experience in at least one of the following: STB viewing, Digital viewing, Media metrics, Viewing analytics, Ad Sales analytics, Web Analytics

- Experience with databases required

- Experience with statistical methods preferred

- Experience with Visualization tools preferred

- Experience with AWS is a plus
