The Small Business Lending Operations is a division of Wells Fargo that develops and markets lending products to small businesses. Our division is responsible for a variety of operation tasks related to application processing. In this role, the candidate will assume responsibility for managing the Commercial Real Estate Workout operations and strategy for the Small Business Lending (SBL) and Regional Bank Relationship Manager (RBRM) portfolios, and be based in Phoenix, AZ. This individual will report to the Loss Control and Recovery group within Small Business Lending Operations and have responsibility for up to five direct reports. The successful candidate will work closely with leaders and other partners across Wells Fargo Small Business Lending and the Enterprise in the execution of commercial real estate strategies.

As a Team Member Manager, you are expected to achieve success by leading yourself, your team and the business. Specifically you will:

  • Lead commercial real estate workout teams with a focus on high complex and high-risk credits. The functions include but are not limited to: financial analysis on short-sales and settlements, loan modifications and TDR’s, and foreclosure and ORE proceedings.

  • Create a high performing culture across the organization; leading by example to motivate an energized, engaged team to work with customers to help them resolve their financial issues with the best service experience as possible.

  • Provide leadership on the execution of workout and loss mitigation strategies; including influencing the business leaders to move in new directions.

  • Analyze team and portfolio performance and emerging issues to develop appropriate strategy enhancements.

  • Be an exceptional leader and developer of high performing talent to meet or exceed business goals.

  • Collaborate with other senior business leaders and product managers to accomplish goals, manage implementation efforts and resolve complex problems or inquiries.

  • Provide oversight to ensure strict compliance with government regulations and internal policies and procedures.

  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to present complex ideas in a straightforward and understandable manner.

  • Effectively lead change across the organization.

  • Effectively manage resource capacity and expenses.

  • Contribute value in strategic and business management decisions across the end-to-end default functions.

  • Results oriented with outstanding ability to motivate teams and mobilize the resources to accomplish business

Required Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: collections, customer contact, customer service, or sales environment

  • 6+ years of management or supervisory experience

  • 5+ years of commercial real estate experience

Desired Qualifications:

  • Basic Microsoft Office skills

  • Attention to detail and accuracy skills

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Ability to interpret information and prepare/present reports

  • Knowledge and understanding of commercial lending or workout operations

  • Experience with a variety of real estate secured loan products and business line processes

  • Ability to communicate effectively, in both written and verbal formats, with senior executive-level leaders

  • Outstanding problem solving and analytical skills with ability to turn findings into strategic imperatives

  • Ability to positively influence, motivate, and direct diverse teams

  • Ability to influence and collaborate at all internal organizational levels

  • Ability to manage in a matrixed organization environment

  • Client service focus with the ability to listen to customer needs and recommend solutions

  • Knowledge and understanding of problem loan resolution and workout situations

  • Leadership experience with ability to effectively manage and engage teams

  • Leadership skills including; coaching, training, and mentoring
