Position: TechnicalSolutions Manager II

Job Description:

The Technical Solutions Manager manages all activities of the engineering department. Directs department activities, through subordinates, to design new products, modify existing designs, improve production techniques, and develop simplified procedures and tools. Analyzes technology and business trends, and market demand to plan projects. Confers with management, production, and marketing staff to determine engineering feasibility, cost effectiveness, and customer demand for new and existing solutions and services. Forecasts operating costs of department and directs preparation of budget requests. Directs personnel activities of department, such as recruitment, hiring, performance evaluations, and salary adjustments. Must be able to establish both a technical help desk with industry specifics as well as train the existing field team to grow services. Supply reports as needed to show growth in services revenue and profit.

  • Proven seasoned solutions professional with a deep understanding of design, development and Services.

  • You speed time to revenue for our customers and Arrow. You reduce the time from definition to deployment and remove obstacles or fix errors to delight the customer.

  • Adept at building Proof-of-Concept (hardware, software and services)

  • Thrives in an agile and flexible environment where our commitments to customers reign supreme. You are consultative and collaborative.

  • Results-oriented, proactive, confident under pressure and demonstrated skills in solution selling.

  • Able to create professional, visually impressive presentations with content appropriate for an intended audience

  • Experience at presenting slides to executive management or conveying concepts to customers

  • Broad industry knowledge in areas such embedded, wireless connectivity, Edge, Gateway Connectivity and Middleware allowing for connecting to on premise and cloud platforms.

  • Strong leadership skills, planning, project management, excellent communication, virtual-team engagement, time management, are essential.

  • Building relationships with Business Development Managers, Arrow business Units such as ECS and AEC Very capable of doing and knowing how to collaborate internally and externally with partners to achieve our goal.

  • This job profile requires the assignment and participation in a sales compensation plan. A portion of OTE will be variable and tied to specific sales-related goals as set forth by Arrow.

  • Manage professional employees and/or supervisors or supervises large, complex technical or business support or production operations team(s)

  • Is accountable for the performance and results of a team within own discipline or function

  • Adapt departmental plans and priorities to address resource and operational challenges

  • Provide technical guidance to employees, colleagues and/or customers

  • Accountable for the budget, performance and results of a medium-sized team or multiple small teams

  • Exercise full management authority, including performance reviews, pay decisions, recruitment, discipline, termination and other personnel actions

  • Address issues with impact beyond own team based on knowledge of related disciplines

What We Are Looking For

  • 10 years of related experience with at least 5 in managing a team.

  • Must possess and demonstrate leadership experience in previous roles.

  • Must possess a general understanding of virtualization technologies such as VMware vSphere, VMware NSX, Hyper ‐ V, Nutanix AHV, Zen, Citrix, etc.

  • General understanding of multiple enterprise operating systems such as Windows Server or Unix/Linux.

  • Understanding of Storage, Networking, and Security technologies. Especially around NetApp, Dell EMC, IBM, Lenovo, HPE, Palo Alto, Trend, ForesSout, etc.

  • Understanding of Data Intelligent technologies. Especially around Splunk, IBM, Information Builders, etc.

  • Understanding of Cloud Technologies is a plus, especially around: Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services, IBM Bluemix, Google Cloud Platform, OpenStack, etc.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are a must! You will be presenting to groups of partners, suppliers, sales teams, as well as direct reports via telephone, web presentations and in person.

  • Must have experience utilizing Microsoft Office Products, SalesForce, WebEx, SKYPE, Remote Desktop and other presentation tools.

  • Understanding of technical, support and installation services
